35. 3 - 4%.... You know what the means?
At $4.50 a gallon, that saves you more money than McCain's "gas tax holiday"

Plus, it lasts longer than 3 months, and the gas stations don't just jack up the prices to compensate.

2. I've said all along
IGNORANCE IS A CONSERVATIVE VALUE. limbaugh has said as much. Real good murkins don't need no edumucation; it'll just make the libruls with their intellectual curiousity. Ignorant Americans and no fairness doctrine make the drug crazed friendless dork happy in his lonely lil world.

19. Part of it is that they have it drilled in their heads
That education is a liberal thing. "Liberal college professors." etc etc. These Republicans, who almost all have degrees from so-called liberal universities, manage to demonize education to the rank and file Republicans. They practically brainwash people to believe a massive liberal monolith exists and is out to get them. Liberal education. Liberal govt. Liberal media. Liberal judges. Liberalism is a mental disease etc. It's all about demonization. You don't need to listen to some liberal egghead when you got a regular joe who you can have a beer with and he'll tell you what's what. What an effing crock.

I'm surpised some guy didn't flip out earlier and shoot "libruls" like that guy in the church the other week. That's the cycle of the GOP, you make people believe education is bad and then you brainwash them into hating those who disagree with that ignorant point of view.

26. Hello My Friend
Edited on Tue Aug-05-08 06:21 PM by BOSSHOG
I appreciate your point of view and I have to chuckle. I am a College degreed Veteran who can properly be described as a beer swilling redneck. I wear long pants for weddings and funerals only. But my politics are far to the left of about 100% of my neighbors and I'm so very proud of that. They can demonize the fuck out of me but they get all pissypants when we chat bout factual data etal. Maybe that's why they don't like to chat with me about anything but hurricane preparedness and tomato fertilizer. Keep fighting the good fight my friend. Oh, and me being a veteran (military retiree, combat zone vet) really pisses them off, cause they can't point to me as one of "them."

61. That's interesting
Because I'm a college degreed Montana farm hick, beer swilling (not so much anymore), used to ride bulls, don't wear long pants and all that macho stuff too. I almost went into the military, but failed my physical because of sports injuries. But yeah, nothing screws these guys up more than facts.

I always try to start talking about general type stuff that everybody tends to agree on. Like that Washington is "broke." Nobody likes Washington, haha. It's a pretty natural place to go. But sometimes you get people who really need to be put into their place. I do find you could dismantle a person's argument, but sometimes they just believe what they believe and that''s that. You got people who don't want to believe the sky is blue, even while they are looking at a blue sky. Not much you can do about that.

He hit back hard on this one, it makes John McCain and his cronies look like a bunch of ignorant childish fools. Let's see the media run this clip. What the hell is up with the repubs anyway passing out tire gauges trying mock Barack, what kind of dumb shit is that? It reminds you of the "purple bandaid" episode mocking John Kerry. A MESSAGE TO THE REPUBS, BARACK OBAMA IS NOT JOHN KERRY, that childish shit isn't going to work this time.

Man to man, he will rip McCain to pieces.

I don't drive a car, I ride a bike instead. And I can tell you, as the engine of my vehicle, that when my tires are full I rocket up the hill to my house. If they are flat I am huffing and puffing all the way. It does make a difference.

Nicely done, Barack.

22. Obama has been keeping a steady pace
not over taxing himself, but not letting real slights go unanswered. Now that we're 3 weeks away from the Dem Convention, I believe Obama is going to start stretching out in his stride, still not overtaxing himself, but definately opening up the distance between him and the old man. Once the convention happens, he's going to start breaking out in a stride that can't be beat--and the thugs have to follow up his show and there is no way they can match him. They're going to have to pay hard up knuckleheads to show up and make it look like the old man has draw.

50. RE: not letting real slights go unanswered
YES!

I agree 100%

Sometimes you just have to give back what you get and not ignore it hoping it will go away, like what happened with Kerry in '04.

Ignoring stuff like that can help or hurt, but from what we've seen for the past few years, it seems like ignoring it isn't a good idea because then it has a chance to grow and become a virtual Theme Song for the guys perpetrating it.

I like the idea of knowing that Obama will fight back and give as good (or better) than he gets.

:woohoo:

46. Masterful! Obama is correct that keeping tires
inflated to the proper level saves gas. Small Steps are what we can do! We don't need to further ruin the environment to save gas. Small steps do it along with bigger ones such as combining activities in trips. Making a shopping list when going to do errands so things aren't forgotten and run back for, planning a errand/shopping activity route, keeping car air filters clean, getting car serviced regularly, using heavy electric items in off hours, keeping the thermostat set optimal settings (68 degrees for heating.... 78 for cooling) and et cetera. Recycle and reuse what we can aren't Republican American values. They seem to wan to slap down good but small steps and rape the land for oil, gas or what ever they currently think they need.

Guess Rethugs can't figure anything out! I hope they keep looking so stupid... no one will vote for them except the very rich, the very stupid, or the very greedy.

Most Right Wingers glory and revel in their stupidity. They're proud of the fact that they let others do the thinking for them (Rush, Hannity, Dobson, etc). They all say, "Thank God I'm not a pointy-headed intellectual elitist." They're all like Frank Burns from the TV Show M*A*S*H:

"As I see it, unless we each conform, unless we all follow orders, unless we obey our Leaders blindly, there's no possible way we can remain free!"

"There's nothing wrong with ordering people to behave as patriotically as possible."

Reporter: "Doesn't patriotism have to come from the heart?"

"Thank God I don't have that problem."

62. I can't see vids at work, dangit
I'll have to wait (although I did see clips last night).

The comments on the YouTube post were, as usual, priceless with rightieland's heads exploding. I've been blogging a long, long time and one thing I've figured out the hard way. There's no use in responding to hardheaded RW'ers. Arguing with a crazy person is an exercise in futility; you'll never change their minds with the facts and trying to will only make you as batshit as they are. The posts over there are typical, to wit:

No, he didn't say overinflate your tires; he said proper inflation. It doesn't just save gas, it's the mechanically correct and wise thing to do.
O'bama muzlin! Obmama socilist with raddical pastor DRILL DRILL DRILL!

Why should we open more land for drilling when the oil companies aren't using most of what they've got?
Omama oil-haiting muzlum! O'bama socilist won't pledge allejince! DRILL DRILL DRILL!!

Why should we drill more when it will take 10 years to get more fields online, 4 years after that to bring refineries online -- and all the while, from now until then, we're still exporting a large percentage of what we're bringing out of the ground here rather than keeping it at home?
O'bama thinkes over inflated tires will save gas HAHHAHAH11!!11!!1 DRILL DRILL DRILL

Predictable and tiresome. And yes, Senator Obama was even more correct than I believe he knows: QED, they do delight, even revel in their ignorance. It's an absolutely pitiful, a national shame.

Wrong. Strike last. They should be ashamed of themselves. They honestly act as if they're not over the age of 6. My dogs behave better in public and are probably cleaner. The problem is, these humans vote.

Enough ignunce has gotten to be entirely too much. I want my country, my Constitution and the rule of law back.
