that's not the point. The point is that your prices will not go down as a result of this, ever. It simply means that the oil companies get to make more money shipping this oil off to overseas markets.

4. It's all about grabbing up all the mineral rights they can get.....

for future exploitation. They don't guarantee if given these rights, that they will start drilling right away. I hope we are not stupid enough to allow this, they already have the rights to minerals on way too much public lands.

5. Supremely stupid... we better be opposing OCS drilling for a better reason

The 10 year argument is not working...polls are 70%-30% for OCS drilling and the Dems have totally backed themselves into a corner on this. People want to know that oil will be coming on line in 10 years... for their kids if not for them.

Oppose it for environmental reasons or don't oppose it at all.

6. Yet another stinker from MoveOn.

I'm sorry, but MoveOn has yet to produce a single ad in four years that I'd be willing to shell out the bucks to put on the air.

This ad is just awful. To make it worse, what's up with that snippet of obviously over-dubbed audio in the middle? Makes the ad sound low-budget and put together by some kid in his basement. Worse, it gives Conservatives an opportunity to claim "message tweeking" because the original script was no good.

Bad ad, all around. I recommend MoveOn talks to Greenfield of "Brave New Films" for an idea of how to write a persuasive AND hard-hitting ad. :(

7. yeah the over-dubbed audio really kills the ad...

I am thinking that it was an audio problem with the web version, I cant see them airing it this way. Even without the audio problem the ad is still pretty week.
