Barack Obama smacks down McCain's same old politics in in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, telling the audience, "The time for game playing is over."

Obama states, "Given the seriousness of the issues, given the fact that the decisions that we make right now, are going to help determine the future, not just of the next generation but perhaps generations to come, given the magnitude of our challenges when it comes to energy and healthcare and jobs and foreign policy, you'd think we'd be having a serious debate.

So far, all we've been hearing about is Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears.

I do have to ask my opponent is that the best you can come up? Is that really what this is what the election's about? Is that what is worthy of the American people?

Even the media has pointed about how McCain started off talking about running an honorable campaign has fallen back into the predictable political attacks, the demonstrably false statements...But here's the problem, these negative ads, these negative attacks, spending all of this time talking about me instead of talking about what he's going to do, that's not going to help you lower your gas prices. That's not going to help you stay in your home if you are falling behind in your mortgage. That's' not going to help you find a job if it's been shipped over seas.

It doesn't do a single thing to help the American people. It's politics as a game.

Time for game playing is over."

10. thats not true...
we are supposed to vote for him because he is a POW. Because being a POW means that he loves his country and will always put his country first and being a POW means he knows how to win a war and being a POW means that he has experience in foreign policy and being a POW means we can trust him......... didn't you get the memo?

11. Must have missed it while I was putting up my Obama 08 yard sign.
BTW, AMC was showing The Manchurian Candidate last night. Wonder what made me think of that.

5. It's politics as a game... The time for game playing is over.
Love that quote, to me this is really the most insidious thing about american politics is that the electrorate seems to see it as not much more than a sport... It's my team vs. the other team, not a debate as to the issues affecting and the future course of our nation. People need to be reminded that we're in serious times, and that play time is over...
