Andrew Card on Morning Joe talking to Andrea Mitchell and Pat Buchanan about the leaks that led to the Sy Hersh article in the New Yorker saying that it's wrong that heaven forbid the public knows the President Bush might want to start WWIII by attacking Iran. He also seems to think that briefing the Gang of Eight in the Congress received is the same as the entire Congress knowing what the administration is doing and authorizing war which is their oversight duty according to the Constitution. Only Congress can declare war. No where does it say that a Committee of Congress does it instead.

1. I love Pat Buchanan saying "these are acts of war." the American people have the
right to be consulted before we go to war again.
Andrew Card NO they don't have the right to "prevent the president from protecting us".
surreal.

Deja DU: Iran Busts CIA Terror Network 'Devised By US To Bomb Educational & Religious Centers'

Iran busts CIA terror network
davidswanson ...

TEHRAN - The Intelligence Ministry on Saturday released details of the detection and dismantling of a terrorist network affiliated to the United States.

In a coordinated operation on May 7, Iranian intelligence agents arrested the terrorist network’s members, who were identified in Fars, Khuzestan, Gilan, West Azerbaijan, and Tehran provinces, the Intelligence Ministry announcement said.

The group’s plans were devised in the U.S., according to the announcement, which added that they had planned to carry out a number of acts such as bombing scientific, educational, and religious centers, shooting people, and making public places in various cities insecure.

One of the terrorists was killed in the operation, but the rest are in detention, the Intelligence Ministry said, adding that the group’s main objective was to create fear among the people.

3. Who gives a flying fuck about Vietnam? It's 2008.
And all of this "national security" and Iran shit is just sexy espionage and war stuff the media sells. Of course Iran isn't an imminent threat. To pretend that the US and Bush are worried about Iran or terrorism is to insult our intelligence. If there are any plans to attack Iran, it has nothing to do with terrorism or any threat they pose to us, but it's about energy resources. Stop insulting our intelligence. Jesus fucking christ.

All of this talk about Vietnam and all of this "national security" and "counterterrorism" shit only serves as a diversion from the many and very real wolves at the door.

6. The lesson of Vietnam is VERY relevant to the current administration
and that lesson is that the military industrial complex and their political stooges LIE the USA into wars!!

Q. What is the difference between a pinko commie and a terrorist?

A. The same as the difference between a Dick Nixon and George W. Bush, or about 30 years?

12. since when is the job of some politician to protect me?!
I don't remember ever voting for politicians to protect me. I don't need their protection, I never asked for it I never will. The Constitution needs protection, not me.

This hero worshiping of every person who ever had the uniform on is pathetic too. We need a compulsory service so everyone serves at age of 18 4 at least 1 year and that's that. My grandfather survived soviet prison camps at the Don, nobody talked about him as a "hero". I served under the communist flag a compulsory military service, I am not particularly proud of it. Our attitude in Eastern Europe is that you are not a man until you finished your military service: it's a right of passage, not heroism. Heroes are usually dead, death is implied in the word in many languages.

4. Andy we are trying to stop the President from HURTING us
but you don't understand that because you are still smitten by Bush and you should KNOW how contrived that whole cult of personality is.

Of course there are matters that we will not know about, fine, but this clearly has taken place in the intelligence community and the side of reason had no alternative but to leak it to stop it from happening because the whackjob (Cheney) won't take NO for answer. An answer to a question he already asked in regards to IraQ.

9. the "secret finding" was leaked by people who know the Spec Ops are wrong..
The "leaker's" are people on the inside who know what this administration is doing is wrong and potentially - acts of war.

I'd say what the leaker's are doing is very patriotic.

10. Andrea Mitchell. WTF is she doing on TV?
"alot more imminent...."

What?!?.....Either something is - imminent - or it isn't. You can't be alot more pregnant.

And instead of hammering this yammering lying sack of shit Andrew Card about his credibility, she goes to the stupid assed line of questioning about what Wesley Clark said about John McCain.

11. With all the damage these people
have done to America & the World, they should be watched 24/7 on live t.v & immediately called out for any questionable moves.

If were are not going to impeach them for their crimes, they need to be monitered.

13. I think both Mitchell and Buchannan asked some EXCELLENT questions.
And kudos to Pat for bringing up the bills regarding the naval blockade (which were written by Dems, by the way :()

I do disagree with Buchannan regarding going after the person who leaked this.

With our country in the state it is now, with all we've learned about how this administration has lied to us, whoever leaked this is a true Patriot in my book. :patriot: I'll say a little prayer for his/her safety tonight.

15. Andrew Card sounds like a broken record. He has only one approved talking point he keeps repeating.
President job is to make tough decisions. We should not deny him an opportunity to consider all possible options. This should not be decided in a public debate.

What are f#$%^ piece of sh*t!

Good job, Pat on grilling him.
