1. Normally...
...I don't mind these two congressmen. In fact, I usually like their straight-forwardness. However, I was annoyed at how quickly they dismissed every thing that Jesse Ventura had to say. Ventura is a very smart man who is completely unafraid to call it like it is. He just exposed these two democrats for being part of the Washington establishment that annoys me so much.

4. I guess you didn't have the joy and thrill of living in Minnesota
Edited on Thu May-22-08 04:19 PM by Wickerman
during the reign Jesse and surviving the aftermath. Jesse, who funded little service and gave away the "surplus" in "Jesse Bucks." Follow that up with no money due to the recession in 2001 and a Repub controlled govt for the next 5 years and we are in a world of hurt here. Child poverty is sky-rocketing, roads that were in simply bad shape are now in crumbling with bridges even collapsing, healthcare availability and education ratings have dropped from being among best in the Country to ranking in the teens.

You want Jesse? You are welcome to him. He was a deconstructionist, not a builder or progressive.

5. My sister worked for a Minnesota public health firm
that got axed by Ventura. She hates him.

However, he did call the Democrats to task on Iraq! That I agree with.

2. Jesse....God love em
but what the hell is he doing on the same program as Robert Weschler and Charles Rangel? Especially at this climax point of the Democratic process?

I would love to have that bigger debate about the two party system in the country. But then they should have had on a Republican and talked about it. It seemed like CNN just threw in Ventura as a 'free radical' to f*ck with the Dem Reps.

And why didn't one of the Dems speak up when Jesse accused both parties of running up the national debt, while saying he is torn between conservative conservatives and liberal liberals, still stoking the misconception that conservatives spend money better or less than liberals. So easy to point at where the country was as the last Democrat left office, and where it is now under 7 years of Republican 'fiscal conservatism'.

3. Bob tried to counter, but Larry went to commercial
and then came back taking a phone call. The whole King show is set up for sound bites, not discussion.

6. You're right
I noticed that as well, and pretty much expected it, but it is such an important point to make, especially on national TV, whenever that 'Republicans are fiscally more responsible' myth is put out there, that I thought one of the two Dems could have done a "..but I want to address the point that Jesse raised..."
