From October 2006.

Schweitzer speaks some great truths about how elections are won and lost in America.

This is why I like this guy as an Obama VP.

Red State credibility, passion, and a real winning ability to frame the issues.

1. I wanted HIM to run for Prez 1 1/2 years ago!
And he WAS ASKED! He has also been asked about the vice presidency. He always responds the same: "I have the best job in the world as Gov. of Montana, besides, my dog told me he HATES the smell of Washington!"

THAT'S the kind of candidate we need! Honest, energetic, and extremely personable! His ability to tell a few jokes doesn't hurt either!

2. Schweitzer knows how to get elected by people
who wanted to have a beer with Stupid but really didn't know what he stood for. He's not pretty and he wears a string tie instead of being dressed by campaign handlers. He doesn't rely on nuance and parsed statements. He told them the progressive truth in ordinary language.

Like it or not, he showed Democrats the way to get elected by people who don't pay attention. This is what the party needs to do instead of allowing good candidates to be packaged by professional campaign handlers into bland, never rock the boat zeroes who might appeal to a mythical GOP crossover voter by promising business as usual.

I'd hate to see him wasted as a VP. I want him to run for the presidency.

4. Ooh..
I like him. I hope he's getting special consideration. Good ole' fashioned common sense, and not afraid to tell the truth.
