Union, Behr reach tentative labor agreement (1,400)

http://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/stories/2007/10/01/daily23.html

IUE-CWA has reached a tentative agreement with Behr Dayton Thermal Products, a union leader said Friday.

The union will share more details of the deal at a 3 p.m. news conference, said Harry Bogan, director of IUE-CWA's Region 7.

The union represents about 1,400 hourly workers at the plant.

The company and union had been negotiating the deal after the contract expired Sept. 28.

If approved by workers, it will be the first new contract in 12 years at the plant, which has grown into one of the largest employers in the city of Dayton and one of the region's largest auto part production facilities.

The facility is part of Troy, Mich.-based Behr America, which is the North American unit of German automotive group Behr GmbH & Co.
