NWA flight attendants in fight for their lives. (attention Omaha Steve)
Edited on Sat Aug-26-06 12:40 PM by peacebuzzard
With paycuts gouged to 40% off original pay and work hours increased by almost 20%, flight attendants never get to go home.

that is me. I am so sickened by the absolute greed and meanness of the airline. Yesterday in court, the NWA lawyer gleefully remarked that the "Cows have left the building" referring to the flight attendants who were in the court room at the time as the sentence was announced.

The dismayed flight attendants did indeed march out. (second hand info)

Omaha Steve, I saw your post on GD about Victor Marrero, and I am so overwhelmed w/ my job and life that I was going to see if you or any other kind hearted poster can help me locate the email to the Judge Marrero, so I can pass it on to my colleagues so his email will get deluged over the weekend.

If you could also put up an alert for me here on DU that we need support for the f/a cause to allow us to strike and initiate work actions against a contract that has been forced upon us. This contract we are flying and working under was voted down by a whopping 80% of the flight attendants.

Thanks for you help. I must get back to my duty hours in just a few minutes and have errands to do.

Thanks again.
Peace.

1. I did post about it

No replies yet. I'll see what I can find out later today after I'm done working.

3. From April to October my only days off are Tuesdays.

That will change since soon I won't be a park caretaker anymore. M-F for a semi skilled laborer.

4. I faxed a letter to the Judge.

At this time, we are awaiting a decision on whether or not we can initiate "self-help" (intermittent work stoppages)

This is our only recourse at this time due to a horrifying contract imposed on us that we had overwhelmingly rejected.....No justice at all at this time.

It used to be a good job but now I want to be the first to walk if the Judge upholds our rights to pursue this avenue.

I need the job and the pittance of money and insurance, but there always comes a time when principle wins over the known and familiar.
