Public sector retirees in Nevada could lose benefits

3,500 retirees may be forced out of a Nevada state mandated benefits program now that a judge has ruled the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department does not have to pay a state-mandated subsidy if retirees are in the Public Employee Benefits Program. The ruling could result in 100 retirees from the police department, 1900 from the Clark County School District, and any other retiree who has benefits through the collectively bargained trust. The ruling comes three years after Nevada lawmakers passed by legislation that was intended to help school districts and governments keep money in their pockets by ending retiree benefits.

1. I taught in Reno, NV (Washoe County) for 10 years
I still have my PERS there, and am planning on rolling it over to CA once I get hired on full-time for teaching here.

Am I about to lose all I already have in my retirement fund???
