A Lincoln city employee was critically injured Monday afternoon when the riding lawn mower he was using rolled, pinning him underneath, Lincoln police said.

Eric Kohles, 37, was taken by ambulance to Bryan-LGH Medical Center West, where he was in the intensive care unit Monday night, Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said. A hospital spokeswoman declined to release Kohles’ condition.

Rescuers were called to the area of North 56th Street and Seward Avenue at 1:27 p.m. Kohles had been mowing near a slough when the mower tumbled down a 9-foot embankment, Beggs said. Co-workers called 911 after they noticed what had happened. They were not able to lift the mower and had to wait for help from rescue workers.

1. Bet it didn't have a ROPS bar either.........
a lot of those mowers best made for the home or flat level ground have been creeping back into everyday commercial use.
