The AFL-CIO says the U.S. Senate vote Thursday paving the way for passage of the financial reform legislation represents an historic shift of power away from big bankers and CEO’s to working families and Main Street. The AFL-CIO says working family leaders in Congress stood firm to put the country back on an economic track that works for everyone. But the labor federation says it will continue to work for additional reforms that will address too big to fail financial institutions and force Wall Street to pay for re-creating the millions of jobs it helped to destroy.
