DU this poll

Unionized auto workers protested at the Detroit Auto Show against the givebacks the Bush administration wants from them in return for bailing out the industry. Should the UAW union make concessions?

It's down on the right hand side. We're losing 81 to 19

4. It's a hard question
:kick:
& R

it really is a tough question. the only fair way to make concessions is to first make sure management makes the same proportionate concessions, and then link the concessions to the financial wellbeing of the company, benefits should return as the profitability of the company increases. so, a yes or no answer is not the right way to addresses the problem. I voted no, anyway, because in an ideal world we would have fair working conditions and this type of agreement would be standard; and i have to believe that once concessions are made and company profitability increases, management will not voluntarily reinstate the concessions.
