Hayward teachers return to work - 04/30/07

Teachers in Hayward, California are back on the job after a strike that lasted ten school days. The new contract passed with 89 percent approval from the teachers who will receive an 8 percent increase effective immediately and a three percent increase in February 2008. The teachers had been seeking a 16 percent pay increase similar to one received by two vice superintendents.
