Lede: Teamsters workers in Kentucky won a quick strike against a Kroger warehouse, and as Doug Cunningham reports, they protected their jobs by standing together to fight for them.

Teamsters Local 89 won a strike against Kroger distribution facilities in Louisville, Kentucky and are back on the job this week. Kroger uses third party operators to run the distribution warehouse in Louisville. When those operators tried to break previously agreed contract proposals during bargaining, the Teamsters decided to strike. The main issue was job security for the 750 Teamsters workers at the facility. The strike won that job security and also won improvements in wages and pension and health benefits. Teamsters Local 89 President Fred Zuckerman said the workers stood up for what they believed in without hesitation and they won. The drivers and warehouse workers are responsible for supplying 190 Kroger stores. They voted to end the strike and approve six year contracts that won the job security that they sought.
