OK D.U. family, I've tried to collect this body of evidence on how BushCo lied their way to war, and also how determined they were to go to war even before Bushie took office.

Please help me add to this body of evidency, by adding any additional info you have. Thanks!


More evidence that the Bush Crime Team was fixing the facts around the policy, and ignoring the intelligence.

A former CIA senior official says that the CIA had evidence that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, six months prior to the invasion. But the CIA was ignored by the Bush White House, who was determined to go to war.

In an interview to air on 60 Minutes this Sunday, Tyler Drumheller said that an Iraqi source "told us that there were no active weapons of mass destruction programs."

Drumheller further commented: "The (White House) group that was dealing with preparation for the Iraq war came back and said they were no longer interested....We said: 'Well, what about the intel?' And they said: 'Well, this isn't about intel anymore. This is about regime change'."

Futhermore: "The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy."

So now we have both the Downing Street Minutes and this ex-CIA official telling us that the facts were being fixed around the policy.

What more does the United States Congress need to know? George W. Bush has committed high crimes and misdemeanors. He is deserving of impeachment and removal from office.

Let's examine some of the other evidence:

3. Bush was so concerned about the lack of evidence against Sadaam, that during a meeting with Tony Blair in January 2003, he contemplated entrapping Sadaam by flying U2 reconnaissance plane over Iraq, and painting it in the colors of the United Nations to make it look like a U.N. plane. And if Sadaam fired on it, he would be in violation of U.N. resolutions.

Moreover, Bush and his fellow neo-cons were clearly determined to go to war with Iraq.

1. Former White House counter-terrorism official Richard Clarke says that on the very day after September 11, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumseld was calling for a retaliatory attack against Iraq, despite the lack of evidence that Iraq caused 9/11. Rummy said he wanted Iraq, because Afghanistan didn't have enough good targets. Clarke said: "Rumsfeld was saying that we needed to bomb Iraq. And we all said ... no, no. Al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan. We need to bomb Afghanistan. And Rumsfeld said there aren't any good targets in Afghanistan. And there are lots of good targets in Iraq. I said, 'Well, there are lots of good targets in lots of places, but Iraq had nothing to do with it.

"Initially, I thought when he said, 'There aren't enough targets in-- in Afghanistan,' I thought he was joking."

2. In 1999, two years before the 9/11 attacks, the candidate George W. Bush told his ghostwriter he wanted to invade Iraq, saying: "One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief. My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it. If I have a chance to invade, if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency."

Lastly, as a D.C. citizen, I do not have representation in the Congress and Senate.

But I urge all of the rest of you, to please send this body of evidence to your Representatives in the House.

But please also send it to your Senators as well. Obviously if any articles of impeachment are passed against him, he would automatically go on trial in the Senate.

6. Something that often gets overlooked....

that I think is most damning is the Blair dossier that had been plagiarized from a graduate student's web site. A great deal of that material was in Powell's speech to the UN. I'll try to find some old articles on it because there hasn't been any mention recently.
