I am not going to drive my car at all this weekend
After breaking $40 to fill up my car earlier today, I think I am going to be biking it, catching a ride, or using public transportation this weekend. I'm not trying to make a statement or protest the frankly overt and illegal collusion going on between oil companies. I am just trying to save a few bucks. I am a college student, and I cannot be afford to be buying so much gas.

I actually feel like an addict when I fill up at the pump. I know what I am doing it just adding to the problem, but I need to do it. I get a little bit of a guilty feeling when I fill my car up. We are addicted to oil, and we each need to figure out what steps we are going to take to help curb the situation. So, this weekend should be fun and interesting.

1. Agreed
It's a lot easier to avoid driving when I'm in school because I'll gladly walk my ass. Its just when I go home to work that it's going to be hard. Hopefully when I move back permanently, I'll be able to find a job that's on a train route. This gas situation is ridiculous

4. been conditioning myself for this for some time now.
years, in fact.
the car sits there until it is absolutely necessary to wheel it, and then I have a plan at how many stops I have on the way to make the most of it.

5. When my kids were little, my family used to walk and bike everywhere
We lived in Ware, Massachusetts... a pretty small town.
I was a stay-at-home dad, my wife's workplace, and the grocery store was right across the street. That was about 10 years ago, we lived a pretty simple life, and it was the happiest we have ever been in our lives.

6. I'm sick and tired of having to wait (as a pedestrian) for cars to "take
their turn" at the 50/50 time period at stop lights. As pedestrians we should get 2 x the time to cross streets that cars do. I say inconvenience them as much as possible to discourage driving/pollution/congestion.
