Armbands for Peace - let's get this protest going!!

On yesterday's show, Randi Rhodes had a great idea, that we all start wearing a black armband in silent daily protest against war. Several of her listeners got together last night and today and ordered a stock pile of black fabric armbands that say "NO WAR" in white embroidered text. We want to get this movement going. This is true grassroots peaceful protesting. Raise your fist in resistance.

Armband protests have taken place throughout history in resistance to violence and war. Now's the time to be protesting daily in every way we can.

26. How ''bout armbands with "PEACE PROTECTS" or "IMPEACH FOR PEACE" ?

I like Peace Protects because it is a simple truth that exposes the lie of the Bushworld "Military Force Protects" propaganda (actually, their policy is "For every problem there is a solution, and that solution is "Military Force.")

I like Impeach for Peace because it is a call for specific, effective action to attain the goal.

Until the American people unequivocally reject Bush and Cheney and their exercise of dictatorial power, torture, policy of criminal "preemptive" war, we CANNOT begin to repair the devastation they have wrought.

Only when they have been forced from power and replaced with a legitimate administration -- even a Hastert administration -- will we have a shot at re-building the bridges burned and bringing Sunni, Kurd, and Shia Iraqis to the table with European allies, Russia, China, and the Arab League to begin the hard word of finding a solution that all parties have a stake in.
