Russia will deliver air defense systems to Iran - top general
http://en.rian.ru/russia/20060419/46622413.html

MOSCOW, April 19 (RIA Novosti) - The chief of the General Staff said Wednesday that Russia would honor its commitments on supplying military equipment to Iran.

"We discussed supplies of military equipment to Iran, including the Tor M1, in the framework of bilateral cooperation, but it does not fall into the category of strategic weapons," Army General Yury Baluyevsky said after talks in Moscow with NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe General James Jones.

"And I can assure you it will be delivered under the control of the relevant organizations," he said.

At the end of 2005, Russia concluded a $700-million contract on the delivery of 29 Tor M1 air defense systems to Iran.

2. If this Russian system is as good as it is supposed to be, I hope
it will give US military planners some sort of pause in their thinking. If Iran is heavily enough armed maybe the US psychos will consider talking instead of bombing...

4. This is what happens when we have a fake cowboy in the white house
rattling sabres instead of thoughtful negotiations. I wonder what members of a Clinton administration would do in this case? Launch a nuke or negotiate (for years if necessary) under the direction of thoughtful leadership.

For you "conservatives" who are here taking a peak, you are responsible, although I know it is not in your DNA to take responsibility for anything. The next time bush does something stupid (any minute now) your name will be on it just like it is on every other stupid thing your monkey has done the past 5 plus years.

7. I wonder if the Russians have "homing beacons"
built into some of the equipment. Information that could be sold/given to the US at a later occasion......
