The Global Warming advocate's "Agenda"...What is it?
I've been hearing for years about how scientist's and followers that believe that we are in danger of global warming simply have an agenda but I have never figured out what it could be. Now big business, oil companies...Obviously they have an agenda. If they have to comply to stricter rules in fighting global warming, they lose profits.

But individuals that believe that global warming is real...What could they possibly gain by this. It's the dumbest argument I've ever heard...

2. The theory is, they do it to maintain their field research funding.
It's a bullshit theory, but that's the theory. You might be interested in this:

4. Of course...The funding!
Because we all know that the global warming scientists each own 12 mansions apiece. It's a regular cash cow this global warming thing! Unlike the mom & pop oil buisness. :eyes:

I mean, the other post-docs and I just can't figure out what to spend our massive bags of undeserved cash on next!

Oh wait, I'm thinking of Ken Lay and his buddies.

Actually, I've been studying global warming for a couple of decades, and the only way I've been able to afford to pony up for Unicef, the Katrina victims, and other climate-related disasters is by not owning a car.

3. Scientists just want to destroy capitalism, didn't you KNOW ???
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 11:36 AM by kenny blankenship
They want to put an end to the source of all their funding to investigate the natural world and to develop penis extensions tools for manipulating the natural world for our convenience. They want to abolish capitalism and that's why they became scientists, to demolish our economy from the inside out.
Well, that's not completely true. Some of them, the evolutionists and monkey mongers, became scientists in order to destroy the heterosexual nuclear family under God. But they're all in cahoots together, have no doubt, to weaken and destroy the Biblically sanctioned institution of capitalism, the heterosexual, monogamous family unit, and the Christian Republic of America.

5. Scientists should stick to what they do best.
Like trying to warp American's minds with the drivel that the planet is "millions" of years old. Puh-lease!

8. Don't like the message? Shoot the messenger.
There a couple of so-called agendas I've had thrown in my face in many discussions with the RW regarding science. I'm sure there are others.

1. I first heard this from Limbaugh years ago and has since been adopted by many of his cult members: The secret agenda of Science is to come up with sensational doomsday theories in order to win continued gov't funding. Basically scientists run around screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling - give us more money to see if its true or not!" When that scenario is eventually dismissed they move on to something else. Making shit up = job security.

2. Out of the pages of Tom Clancy (who is himself a RWer), scientists are elitists who have lost all touch with reality and would like to form a utopian society on the backbone of mass human extinction. I actually had a RWer bluntly state this to me and others in another forum. See the recent flap surrounding University of Texas ecologist Eric Pianka for a timely example.

3. The ever popular "scientists are atheists pushing an atheist agenda" theory. Scientists are simply trying to eliminate God from our society. Evil bastards.

All of these positions are pure and simple cases of RWers shooting the messenger when disliking the message. Either that or they're bat shit crazy. Or both.
