Why Tony Snow and not Brit Hume?
Wouldn't Brit Hume be a better fit for this administration? Especially since he is buddy-buddy with President Cheney?

6. Poor Sean, always a bridesmaid never a bride.
For that matter has anyone put a suicide watch on O'Reilly? He can't be taking this snub well.

3. How about Leslie?

Or maybe Rush or Hannity? The possibilities are endless. Ann Coulter? That would work too.

8. Did it ever occur to you that Hume, Leslie and Hannity said NO?
I gotta tell ya, I sure wouldn't want that job! You might get a lot of face time, but the rest of the job sucks!

9. Snowe is really smooth.
Could easily say it's a great day in a hurricane and say it believably. Put another way, this is a man who can really lie with a straight face. Hume gets a little pissed when the no one believes his lies. Snowe just moves on to the next lie.

10. I think this is an inspired choice

I heard him on the radio once with someone who disagreed with him. Seemed to me that Tony got a bit snappish and defensive with this individual. We may see a angry meltdown right on the podium if somebody presses Tony for answers to questions he doesn't know or want to reveal. Perhaps he'll start throwing things at the press corps. Almost as good as * little outburst yesterday ("I hear voices but I'm the decider").

13. I saw Snow as a panelist on Bill Maher's show once...
...and Snow had no shame, not just spinning but flat-out lying without breaking a sweat the whole time, even with someone like Bill Maher hanging a little on him.

The White House press corps will be even less of a challenge for him.

17. It's amazing how partisan this group is- and they aren't called on it.
Tony Snow is a regular fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh. It's stunning to even consider such a name. Can you imagine the heat someone like Clinton would take if he decided to make Randi Rhodes his Press Secretary?
