That boy must be in some deep deep shit on the Fitz front.

No way George lets him go, even in this "wink wink nod nod I'm gone but not really" scenario.

This is a last ditch effort to try and convince ANYONE that * "listens and reacts."

Karl must be standing on the scaffold, and the guy with the black hood is working the sharpening stone...

4. I just posted he'd be more palatable to pardon
if he's not officially part of the WH staff.

He will be pardoned, you know. There is no way they'll allow him to be on the hot seat for long. He knows too damned much.

6. Two days after the Ryan verdict in IL?
heh heh heh

Timing, they say, is all.

Oh, shit, please don't let me get my hope up again. Not this early in the day. I just spend the next eighteen hours crashing.

17. See what happens
the one day in weeks I finally sleep late?

This is going down nicely with the morning coffee.

But we still need a big strong charismatic Democrat to stand up and be a leader that everyone can - must - follow. We can't let this distract us from that serious, serious necessity.

16. Hmmm, there maybe more to this than the midterms
They really do need his sleazy ass to help destroy dems in the midterms, but there may be more to it than that - I have to admit...

19. Or, Occam's Razor could be in play here
It is just what it appears to be - a simple purge of things that are going bad, bad, bad fast.

Fitzgerald just might be scaring the White House a whole fuck of a lot more than we know.

They're not THAT insane not to know that he's doing his job.

8. I agree with your analysis
Hee, hee, I said "urinalysis."

{Ahem} Like Kremlinologists of yore, it's up to us to divine the significance of minor signals out of this, the most secretive White House in history. These guys don't make policy or personnel changes unless there's something big coming up. Whatshisname Safavian resigned on Friday afternoon to be indicted on Monday morning. But all the news could then report was that he was a "former" White House official. Yeah, "former" by 72 hours!

Rove's in trouble, something's coming down the pike for him. And they want to be sure they can refer to him as "formerly" one of Bush's closest advisers.

9. It's really getting bad for the Repugs
I'm not surprise that they would have Rove concentrate on the mid-terms. They need all they help the can get and Rove is the best character assassin they have.

Maybe we'll get lucky and an indictment will come down, but that really won't change anything. Even Mafia guys can work from prison.

There is no way in hell Bush can operate without Rove pulling his strings.
