Which party do you think this best describes?
"There do exist pure and sensitive souls. There does exist a tender, but imperious and irresistible passion . . . a profound horror of tyranny, a compassionate zeal for the oppressed, a sacred love of one’s country, and a love of humanity still more holy and sublime, without which a great revolution is no more than the destruction of a lesser by a greater crime. There does exist a generous ambition to found on earth the first republic in the world. . . . "

3. Why do you ask?
Why do you ask that question?
What are you insinuating in that line of thinking?
Is it that we are in a similar time?
A similar frame of social consciousness?

Where is Rousseau?
Where is Voltaire?
Where is Locke?
What happened to that enlightenment?

Have they paved over Emerson and Thoreau?
Are there gentle people anymore who are not deemed simple or insane?

Are we the mob?

I'm sorry, but i HAVE to suspect every person with a low post count
of being an infiltrator, as there is not enough data yet to know.
So given that, i have to look at all the negative ways a propaganda
spin thread introduced here CAN be spun.

Democratic underground endorses the language of the mob?

Yet the mob's language is beautific, however horrble the actual
events of the time, the despotism of napoleon... the ripple effects
of napoleon's imperial work that arguably sewed the seed
for another century of blood.

For a nation born in revolution, we have become decidedly
risk-adverse?

4. Why do you ask 'Are WE the mob'?
(And is being the mob better than being Robespierre?)

People here really need to get a grip...'infiltrator'??? Oh come now! And to what purpose? This is a public message board. Most boards are places where nearly any idea can be kicked around. DU is so narrow....so paranoid...so fearful--why? What could I possibly post that could harm you in the slightest way?

As to why I asked my question--there are MANY political parties. Certainly many more than just Dem or Repub. There's also Communists, whatever is happening (again?) in France, Islamic terrorists, anti-globalizationists, Labour, etc.

Surely you don't think anyone could mean the Democrats to the exclusion of the others? That's just nonsense.

6. Your writing style is lovely!
It's so flowing - and you have very good questions for our rather provocative newcomer.

I'd like to know when our new friend is going to come "out"
