"I'm the DECIDER!" Freudian Slip for "I'm the DICTATOR!"
After all, the decider MEANS one who decides.

The definition of decide is (from http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=decider)
de·cide P Pronunciation Key (d-sd)
v. de·cid·ed, de·cid·ing, de·cides
v. tr.
To settle conclusively all contention or uncertainty about: decide a case; decided the dispute in favor of the workers.
To make up one's mind about: decide what to do.
To influence or determine the outcome of: A few votes decided the election.
To cause to make or reach a decision.

Clearly, Bush is not "making up" his mind. He knows what he wants. He is settling, conclusively, all contention about whether Rumsfeld should remain as Secretary of Defense.

This comes from the form of the word with the following synonyms:
Synonyms: decide, determine, settle, rule, conclude, resolve
These verbs mean to come to a decision. Decide is the least specific: “If two laws conflict with each other, the courts must decide on the operation of each” (John Marshall). Determine often involves somewhat narrower issues: A jury will determine the verdict. Settle stresses finality of decision: “The lama waved a hand to show that the matter was finally settled in his mind” (Rudyard Kipling). Rule implies that the decision is handed down by someone in authority: The committee ruled that changes in the curriculum should be implemented. Conclude suggests that a decision, opinion, or judgment has been arrived at after careful consideration: She concluded that the criticism was unjust. Resolve stresses the exercise of choice in making a firm decision: I resolved to lose weight.

He's not deciding, determining, settling concluding or resolving anything. Bush is RULING as a RULER.

Let's look at that word for a minute:
rul·er P Pronunciation Key (rlr)
n.
One, such as a monarch or dictator, that rules or governs.
A straightedged strip, as of wood or metal, for drawing straight lines and measuring lengths. Also called rule.

Obviously, it's the first meaning. Bush is declaring himself as DICTATOR and he will RULE that what's BEST FOR AMERICA is that RUMSFELD continues on, DESPITE THE FACTS THAT RUMSFELD IS DOING A TERRIBLE JOB.

Now, let's look at the synonyms for DICTATOR (from http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?q=dictator)
dictator
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: ruler
Synonyms: absolutist, adviser, autocrat, baron, boss, caesar, caliph, chief, commander, czar, despot, disciplinarian, duce, emir, fascist, kaiser, lama, leader, lord, magnate, martinet, master, mogul, oligarch, oppressor, overlord, rajah, ringleader, sachem, shah, sheik, slave driver, strongman, sultan, taskmaster, terrorist, tycoon, tyrant, usurper
...
Antonyms: democrat

And if there is any doubt about Bush wanting to be a dictator, let's not forget that he's said he wanted to be a dictator at least FOUR TIMES WHILE IN PUBLIC OFFICE.

"A dictatorship would be a lot easier...So long as I'm the dictator." -- George W. Bush, 1998 in response to difficulties of governing Texas

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier... just so long as I'm the dictator." -- George W. Bush, December 18, 2000, as president-(s)elect.

"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it." -- George W. Bush, July 26, 2001

"It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance." -- George W. Bush, Jan 15, 2004
