You Can Be Decisive, But You Can Also Be Decisively Wrong
"I'm the decider, and I decide what's best. And what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the secretary of defense."

- George Bush, speaking today on Rummy's job security.

First off, what's striking about this comment is Bush's utter arrogance.

But ok Bushie, arrogance aside, let's talk about you being the "decider."

You decided to take us into a war based on lies, against a country who's never attacked us. You decided to fix the facts around the policy, when the policy should have been fixed around the facts.

You decided that you care absolutely nothing about fiscal responsibility, and have run deficits as far as the eye can see.

You decided to ignore all the warnings in advance of Hurricane Katrina. And you decided to go to a birthday party for John McCain while people were literally drowning and dying in New Orleans due to abject, willfull neglect.

You decided to break the law by conducting domestic wiretapping without receiving a warrant first through the FISA Court.

I could go on and on, but well, I'm sure you get the picture Bushie.

Sounds like a pretty crummy record in decision-making, if you ask me. Just remember Bushie, you can be decisive. But you can also be decisively wrong.

1. That's been a peeve of mine for four years now.
Enough so that it became a slogan on a bumper sticker of mine:

Unwavering leadership is only of use when it leads in a productive direction. Otherwise, it's worse than no leadership at all. A ship stranded at sea may face better odds than one whose captain steers it directly into the hurricane.

2. What's behind the decider's decidsions...

"You decided to take us into a war". He decidered we wannid more oil...

"You decided that you care absolutely nothing about fiscal responsibility". He decidered on a way to collapse the guv-mints billity to give Social Security and once it collapses, sell it off to his Corporate pals for two cents on the dollar.

"You decided to ignore all the warnings in advance of Hurricane Katrina". He decidered that worst case, he could steal more public money and give it to his rich Corporate pals who'll milk the rebuilding--and enjoy the side benefit of dumping on a bunch of po peeple.

"You decided to break the law by conducting domestic wiretapping". He decided to show everybody he's 'bove the law and the law don't apply to him; cuz he's decided that's how it's 'posed tuh be.

I've decided I long for the day when the decider gets his just deserts (or at the very least, is long gone).

4. I'm not sure...but
I remember during the Democratic Convention, President Clinton said "Strength and wisdom are not opposing values. They go hand in hand."

5. Actually my favorite Kerry quote during the debates was...
"If President Bush was alive when Edison invited the lightbulb he would have sided with the candlestick lobby." Lol. I love that quote.

8. His narcissistic personality makes him think he's an authority
He clearly demonstrates narcissistic behavior. He thinks he can do no wrong and that he's King of all Kings.

11. Every dictator in the world has been "firm and resolute"
You don't get to wear the cool dictator clothes without having those qualities.

No one ever became a despot by being concilliatory and diplomatic, either.
