CAMP CASEY EASTER 2006: Good Friday, 4/14 (Dial-Up Warning)

ginbarn and I made it down to Camp Casey in Crawford on Good Friday around 1:30pm, only to learn that 14 of the marchers for the Stations of the Cross were arrested by police for defying the new county ordinance against camping or protesting on the side of the road, including the ditch that was the site of the original Camp Casey. The first of the arrested protesters was released on their own recognizance around 8pm, and all will likely face misdemeanor charges that will carry fines and possible jail time.

In happier news, there was an upbeat crowd of some 200 folks at Camp Casey on Good Friday, and we ran into proud2Belib and her son Geoff around suppertime. And now for the photos!

5. Beautiful Derby! We missed you and ginbarn at dinner last

night and wished we were at Camp Casey with you! On our way home, I tried to convince punk that we should head over to Waco, but her dad is in Houston this weekend and for some reason she wants to see him. Go figure.
