I have Sirius radio and I sometimes catch her radio show on the Talkleft station while I'm driving. Her popularity among progressives is a mystery to me since it seems she spends most of her time reading from tabloid magazines. The little time she does spend on politics is usually devoted to trashing other leftie media sources (like Randi Rhodes). And her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
Seriously, I would like to know other DUers feelings about her. Why is she on the air?
5. I'm not the paranoid type, and I like a streak of independence
but when I listen to her I can't help thinking "troll." For example, the little time she spent on politics when I listened to her the other day, she talked about Chelsea Clinton "cocaine problem" and how Randi Rhodes was a liar for saying the Homeland Security pedophile had kiddie porn on an office computer when it was actually adult porn. She's a mystery to me.
Or I had some contact with her when I lived in New York. Mainly, she wants to be on the radio. That's it. There is not much depth there. Her main "quality" is persistence.
6. I do have to admit that on rare occasions I do find her funny
Like once she spent a half hour speculating on the size of King Kong's penis, and if the reason why white men find Kong terrifying is because on an unconscious level it reminds them of their inadequacies in this area.
I can't get Sirius. She used to be at all hours at WABC after she left WBAI.
She made me laugh and I grew to like her voice. I visit her website everyday. She was "let go" from WABC in NYC when the PD purged the station of all non-fascists.
