I'm looking for a checkoff box on my tax forms
The checkoff box that allows me to direct where my tax dollars will be spent. The checkoff box that allows me to check off which government programs and agencies I want to pay for, and which ones I would rather not pay for. I do not want my money going to George Bush's war machine, but I do want my tax dollars to go for programs like the National Endowment for the Arts, Medicaid, national parks, public housing, veterans health care and education.

If you know where the checkoff box is on my tax forms, please let me know.

3. Say goodbye to social security and other social programs...

The rw nutjobs would all line out whatever pissed them off that day. Save a tree and there goes the EPA. Another Terry Schiavo? Get rid of medicare. Think about how much they'd put towards that idiotic faith based funding crap.

They're not exactly known for looking ahead.

It's enough to make me puke.

4. They're already doing that, though
RW nutjobs have gotten all kinds of things that *they* find offensive de-funded. why should their "moral opposition" get special, government endorsed deference when ours doesn't?

5. And giving them options on a tax form would definitely make it worse
This idea is completely stupid. If someone has to pay in taxes it certainly doesn't make them happy. No matter whether a person is a dem, repub or whatever, it's not good when you got someone pissed off and making checks over where their tax money should go.

With how rabid the RW gets, especially about religious matters, you'd find a hell of a lot more going to faith based organizations and next to nothing going to places like FEMA.

Think about this. People were pissed as hell at FEMA after Katrina. Many still are. Do you honestly want people to check the box for faith based funding rather than FEMA?

No thanks.
