It's US Policy to Use Nukes re: Iran
(cross-posted from DailyKos - I am just sharing this diary, not written by me, because it is important)

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/4/13/123018/176

"...the US military's deployment and possible use of of these so-called "tactical nuclear weapons" against rogue states seeking WMD has been the official policy of the United States since the Defense Department issued its Nuclear Posture Review Report on January 8, 2002:"

Please go and read this diary - Rumsfeld said that anyone who believed Hersh's report on nuking Iran was living in "fantasyland," and Senator Judd of New Hampshire compared Hersh to Donald Duck. They are trying to propagandize their way out of the leaks, and we need to spread the word that, yes, they really are considering nuking Iran. There is also a petition to sign over there in the diary.

4. As I said in another thread -
it doesn't matter what Iran says or does. Bushco has been planning this for years. They're going to do it.

5. I sure hope not - the world will explode
if we nuke Iran. Literally and figuratively.

6. Question for the State Dept:
If the US were to launch a strike, nuclear or conventional, against Iran, where would it be launched from, and across whose airspace would it travel?

Does the State Department believe that it is necessary to seek permission from other sovereign or democratically elected governments before using their airspace or military facilities to launch an act of war against their neighbors?

Context: when Reagan bombed Libya in 1986, the strikes were launched from Britain, with the permission of the British government. Similarly when Clinton bombed Serbs from Italy. Does the current administration plan to honor these precedents?
