Utah School Books the Wrong Jon Stewart

OGDEN, Utah - An embarrassed charter school has discovered it booked the wrong Jon Stewart for its annual gala. The DaVinci Academy thought it had made a deal with comedian Jon Stewart, star of "The Daily Show" and host of this year's Academy Awards, to appear next week.

It sent out 500 invitations to businesses and planned for 900 people.

But last week, it learned that it had booked Jon A. Stewart, a former motivational speaker, businessman and part-time professional wrestler from Chicago.

1. Now that's funny. Someone didn't do their homework! I imagine
there are going to be many disappointed attendees.

2. Alas, nothing in the story about Jon's speaking fee
I'd love to know what the Ogden, Utah school board thought they could pay to get the better-known Jon to speak at their annual gala.

But beyond that, I actually feel kinda sorry for them, and it sounds like they're taking responsible steps to rectify the mistake, so maybe we should keep the cheap shots to a minimum. hmm

WWJD (what would Jon do)?

3. I give 'em credit. A school in Utah requesting a JS appearance is
a good thang.

4. The Vicar of Dibley episode when they book Reg Dwight for the Dibley fair
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 08:33 AM by CottonBear
thinking that they are getting Elton John but they actually get Alice's folk singing cousin Reg Dwight is hilarious!
Alice (the Vicar's goofy assistant) tells the Vicar that she knows Reg Dwight and the misunderstanding snowballs. When Reg shows up, the Vicar is dumbstruck! Fortunately, Kylie Minogue shows up at the Vicar's door because she thought Elton John would be performing. The Vicar ropes her into appearing at the fair and Kylie kisses Hugo on stage and all is right in Dibley!
:)

edit: The Vicar of Dibley is an absolutely hilarious and touching BBC show starring Dawn french who is one of Britains great comedic actresses! :)

6. Keith Olbermann named them the Worst Persons in the World last night!
I thought I would die laughing when I was watching Countdown! I was waiting for Bill O'Lielly to get his usual first-place award, but this was even better! What a bunch of stoopies... :dunce:
