Trippi Joins Hall Campaign

DOVER PLAINS, NY -- John Hall, candidate for New York's 19th congressional district, announced today that political strategist Joe Trippi has joined his campaign.

"This year it's more crucial than ever that the Democrats get it right and John Hall is the right candidate to win in November," Trippi said. "I believe in John. He will be a strong voice for change and we're going to work hard to get his message out."

Hall, a musician and community leader on environmental issues, energy, and education is running to take the seat of three term incumbent Sue Kelly. His campaign to represent New York's 19th congressional district - which includes parts of Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, northern Westchester, and Putnam counties - has won union endorsements and the support of Democratic leaders.

"I am excited to have a political strategist of this accomplishment and capacity joining our team and I look forward to winning on November 7," Hall said.

Joe Trippi has advised many national campaigns and was the manager for Howard Dean's presidential bid.

1. Joe Trippi did Howard Dean no favors, so why should Hall
be considered blessed. Trippi, Carville, Begala, and Schrum should all just go into another line of work.

2. Up until Iowa he ran an excellent grass roots campaign for President
and I am hoping that in my CD he will have already learned some lessons and do a great job.

3. I agree
Trippi helped change the way politicians engage the internet as a marketing tool because he was open to new ideas. The Dean campaign invented the political Meetups utilizing a cool networking website that not too many people knew about before hand. The Dean campaign also acknowledged the power of political blogs and forums...hell, they even created their own blog which I had never seen on a campaign website before. It was a truly successful grassroots campaign.

I still wonder if Trippi would have been open to such ideas if Dean wasn't considered such a long shot at first but it's hard to know either way I guess. Up until Iowa I think he did pretty well but it seems as if he lost control toward the end. Trippi comes across as a fighter though and I like that.

4. Joe Trippi is also helping a former governor in Oregon
with his health care reform proposals (Gov Kitzhaber for those in Oregon.)

5. I sure as hell would like a link to that statement!
If he is helping, it's way behind doors. Kitzhaber does not need the help of that jerk.

6. I'm looking around for the link.
It was on either KGW's or KATU's website the other day. I'm pretty sure it was at KGW, but I can't find it. I did find one at Trippi's blog: http://joetrippi.com/?p=1765 and there is mention of it at BlueOregon: http://www.blueoregon.com/2006/03/kitzhaber_tripp.html

9. Thank you for the links
I know see their connection.

I admire John Kitzhaber and believe he means well, but it scare the shit out of me that Trippi is now involved.
