When are the remaining Abu Ghraib photos coming out?
IIRC, Judge Hellerstein ruled against DOD in their latest appeal and DOD decided to drop the fight and comply with the judge's original order. I'd hate to see this go down the memory hole.

1. I may be wrong but,
I thought they were released a month or so ago, printed in Salon.com and then the govt said theyd release what photos remained.

But I'm not following that subject very closely -- I'd rather focus on efforts to close Gitmo and end ongoing torture there.

3. How about the anal rape videos?
Anybody remember what Seymour Hersch said, --that boys were sodomized at Abu Ghraib on camera. They'll never release those tapes.

I want these bastards punished.

5. Apparently there are also videos.....
This is from a transcript of Hersh's speech at ACLU in an article on Daily Kos:

"Some of the worse that happened that you don't know about, ok. Videos, there are women there. Some of you may have read they were passing letters, communications out to their men. This is at Abu Ghraib which is 30 miles from Baghdad <...>
The women were passing messages saying "Please come and kill me, because of what's happened". Basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys/children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. The worst about all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror it's going to come out."

6. There are more. Salon was still lacking 60 or 70...
The remaining materials were tied up in litigation and appeals. Some time last week Hellerstein determined that DOD had to release the remaining materials and DOD decided to drop their objections.

FWIW, the remaining photos are reported to be far worse than anything we've seen yet and were regarded by DOD as being so potentially explosive that they should never see the light of day. Hellerstein disagreed and DOD agreed to abide by that decision.
