5. This guy got elected in TN because his family name is on EVERYTHING
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 11:16 AM by spanone
He is wealthy beyond dreams. Our local paper (the tennessean) just reported on Friday that his family owned business, HCA, owes nearly 800 MILLION DOLLARS IN BACK TAXES. 'IRS says HCA owes $776 million in back taxes' http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006603310382

10. So, WHY haven't they collected them?
This isn't a personal/Corporate issue either. I was an accountant for 40+ years, and believe me, it's NOT common practice for the IRS to drag their feet on demanding the back taxes on businesses any more than it is on individuals.

Unless all these taxes are in dispute right now, there is NO excuse for them not to be paid.

2. I don't think U.S. voters perceive "progress" in Iraq.
I think "calamity" and "deceit" are outstripping "progress" these days in the public perception.

Let's have the 2006 Congressional elections this coming Tuesday.

4. It must be another diagnosis of the situation after watching an
hours worth of tape! No one takes him as seriously as he takes himself after the Schiavo thing. At least, I hope they don't.

9. Just remember if you or I
was involved in insider trading as Frist was, we would have already had about one year behind bars.....

11. That issue is still open with the SEC. I'm sure we haven't heard the last
of it yet. Open investigations take months to work through, so have patience on this one. You just may see Frist have to step down from his leadership position too.

12. Yes, I hope the SEC times this so the investigation reaches its peak
In about October. Just in time for everyone in America to sigh and say, "Another corrupt Republican. Insider trading. Martha Stewart went to jail." SWEET.
