immigrants????

and the arrests???? and the arguments????

sanctuary churches thought this was part of what it means to 'be a Christian'

1. I remember a nun who aided Salvadoran refugees.
What she did was assist people fleeing the civil war. They'd get across the United States and she would help them escape to Canada. It was a nightmarish time.

Many churches have a tradition of advocacy for unions, farm workers, the dispossessed, refugees, etc., as well for peace and human rights.
