ARTICLE ON THE HILL.COM ON THE FLOWERS
After grilling Bush, Helen Thomas gets thousands of flowers
By Albert Eisele

The roses kept coming - and coming - and coming - to the Hearst Newspapers office in downtown Washington on Thursday, until they filled a large conference room to overflowing.

21. Stop it with the Helen thing....
Don't you know boys don't cry ? :sarcasm:

Oh I tease the DU....

No seriously, this is beyond great. I can't think of a more significant gesture to a lady that has devoted over 40 years of her life seeking the truth from those that strive to obfuscate it. When I think about my twilight years and how much such a gesture for a life time of work would bring to my heart...its hard for this boy not to tear up just a wee little bit.

Thanks to you all.. this is about the best thing I've seen happen "FROM" DU in a really long time....

You all are great!!!

At the Hearst Newspapers Bureau, Helen Thomas is surrounded by roses sent to her by well wishers who enjoyed her recent exchange with President Bush in the White House Briefing Room.

to be involved with this, to repay Helen for her work on what I feel is my behalf. To have her turn around and send the roses on to Walter Reed? I love her.

My wife is not a DUer. When I told her what had been done for Helen, she was nearly in tears. Great job, DU! Great job, Helen! We're gonna win this thing. Don't give up hope, anyone.

her decades long service to the American people by doing her job as a journalist and a professional.

Please remember to thank Senator Feingold for his courage. The cowardly Dems managed to stun me again. Think I will change my voter registration to Independent.

The roses are beautiful and my cup runneth over; thanks for those kind words, helent

Do you feel that good karma you generated this week, helderheid? You should - it's flowing over, around & through you! Thank you for the light we were able to shine on this strong, beautiful & wise woman!

42. Changing your voter registration to Independent
Just means you give up your right to vote in the Democratic primaries
and make a difference. Give a vote to the candidate that you would like
to see be your (our) nominee. No sense in Diebolding yourself out of the
process. It's bad enough with Republicans trying to exclude us from the
general elections without us doing it to ourselves in the primaries. Stick
around and make your voice heard.
