Edited on Fri Mar-31-06 11:35 AM by Catrina
First I called his DC office and got a message saying he won't be there until 2.00 and to call his NYC office if it was important.

I called that office, but got no answer at all.

Then I called his Long Island office and an assistant answered the phone.

I asked if Sen. Schumer was planning to be at the Judiciary Hearing today.

She asked which one? I said the only one I was aware of was the Feingold Censure hearing ~

She said she did not know his schedule. I said the hearings had started already and I was very disappointed to see that he wasn't there.

She asked if I would like to leave a message for him. I said yes.

I told her that I wish we had known he wasn't planning to be there because any statement I make now, is a little late. I told her that most people I know consider this issue to be of the utmost importance. That it appears the president broke the law, and I would think Senators would be interested to either verify that, or clear it up.

I told here even my Republican family members are shocked by the presidents policies of Domestic Spying and that we have a right to know who he is spying on.

I was very polite, as was she ~

I was truly furious, although I did not show it, no point in blaming her, that Chuck will not be there, but not at all surprised ~

Their phones need to be ringing off the hook to day ~ although if you're calling Schumer, you'll have to call his LI Office ~ you can't even leave a message on his DC or NYC office.

Shame on them!! We vote them all out ~ this is why we are where we are. They weren't AFRAID when the voted for Bush every time, THEY AGREE WITH HIM!! That is now my opinion ~ what else are we to think? We are NOT represented!

edited to add phone numbers!

1. I got through to the NYC office and got no satisfaction.
The "spokesperson" could not answer any of my questions about Schumer's schedule or his position on the censure. She was only there "to take comments."

2. That's what I got also ~ the assistant didn't know his schedule
But his LI assistant asked ME to if I wanted to leave a statement. Maybe she wanted him to know how disgusted people are ~

People really need to let them know this was a BIG mistake ~ they are cowards, and I do NOT consider Chuck Schumer to be a democrat anyway ~

Paul Hackett would have been there today were he a Senator. I am coming to the conclusion that there are rightwing plants in the Democratic party and that Schumer is one of them. He undermined Hackett's chances of becoming a Senator. Why??
