Tweety: Dems pretending that they're GI Joe all of a sudden.
On the March 29 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, host Chris Matthews declared that he found the recently released Democratic national security proposal "almost funny," because it is "a little late." Matthews also suggested that the proposal is evidence of the Democrats "pretending they're G.I. Joe all of a sudden," and that it might be "phony."

MATTHEWS: Welcome back to Hardball. Today the Democrats tried to out-Bush Bush on national security, saying they'll be tougher on terror but preserve your civil liberties.

Does it sound fierce or phony? Good question. I'm joined by Chris Cillizza, of the washingtonpost.com, political reporter, and Michael Isikoff, Newsweek's top investigative correspondent, maybe the best investigative reporter there is today. Let me ask you about -- we'll get to that national security thing, because it's kind of, almost funny. Funny they came out with this. I mean, it, it's a little late.

<...>

MATTHEWS: We're back with Chris Cillizza of the washingtonpost.com and Newsweek's Michael Isikoff. Let me ask you about this Democratic plan that's just come out today. You have a smile on your face already. Is this just too little too late? The Democrats pretending that they're G.I. Joe all of a sudden?

You're sure you don't mean G.I. George?

4. yesterday he was laughing at the idea that the Dems were tougher on securi
security. After 9/11, Osama-bin-forgotten, and Iraqnam they still think of Democratics as the ones who are incompetent when it comes to security. These Washington pundits need a very heavy dose of reality.

5. Matthews just likes to dislike Dems. He knows Repubs are wrong, but he
wants to be "cool like Republicans"... wants to be "part of the in crowd"...

7. the ONLY time they break out of the "no plan Dems" meme is
when they choose to ridicule it

how many times have they pulled this stunt?

what more evidence does one need to realize that the MEDIA are MORE the ENEMY than the pugs

the pugs are like sharks or scorpions (not to denigrate either); they have no CHOICE in their actions

the media, on the other hand, can do whatever they please. make that whatever pleases the fascists in control. they NEVER please to mention that the dems have had plans like this forever..this is just a refinement of, oh, say, Kerry's defense proposals during his campaign, drowned out by their endless coverage of the swiftboating of himself and Dan Rather

they're worse than traitors, but I can't think of a strong enough word

19. I so agree with this post. How is it that RW haters still sing the shrill
"Liberal Media!" And I'm sure that many people believe it....

How about "Whoring Traitors?"

8. Democrats keep running from Kerry
We told you guys it was a stupid idea to run from the Presidential candidate, no matter who it is. We let the door wide open for them to do this to us, and every time someone bashes Kerry instead of reminding people he was right on everything, we continue to hand the issues over to Republicans.

then every dem is a pretender, Hackett's a puke, Duckworth's a tool, Cleland's a klutz, and that George W. Bush is right to use the military as a backdrop and to justify every act with "the soldiers believe in the mission".

If you've bought into the lie.

15. He's an inadequate fat f**k...
I hate using profanity on these threads but words are beginning to fail me...sorry.

He requires 'love' from his Rethug buddies - it's like the fat asshole vaguely-gay nerd trying to join the cool jock frat in college. He sucks up hoping that one of the boys will have social mercy on him and let him clean up the weight room after all the stinking bodies, moldy socks, and incalculable number of farts have been dealt.

He is always saying how he worked for Tip O'Neill this and how he worked for Tip O'Neill that...he's just a regular wannabe suckup asshole and we have his number. And he reads these threads...believe me. He would pretend that he doesn't but he does and this stuff really wounds him, 'cause he thinks he has everyone fooled. But you don't, you phony. Tip probably laughed at your antics and thought you were just the giant turd floating in the punchbowl.

Yeah YOU!

20. You know why Tweety hates Dems dont you?
He applied for a job as a speechwriter for Clinton shortly after the 1992 election. He was rejected by someone in the Clinton admin, and I guess rather rudely and insultingly. He has had a major hard on for Clinton, Hillary and by extension all the Dems ever since. I suspect he was rejected because he came on as such a sycophant, and he has now turned to the pukes as the objects of his suckupism. He is a joke among wing nuts as well as Dems. They think he is a librul and have no respect for him either.

18. Heads I win, tails you lose
"The Democrats don't have a plan!" Tweety wins.

"The Democrats' plan is too little, too late." Tweety wins.

"I'll talk to a guy from the Post and a guy from Newsweek to get all the inside information about this." Tweety wins.

"I won't talk to a Democrat about this; it might mess up my spin." Tweety wins.

Starting to see a pattern? Or should I go on?
