Poll question: Do you think Hillary is going to run for the nomination in 2008?
Just a simple poll. This is not a thread debating whether or not she would be a great President, etc.

1. I say no.
Granted I would dance naked in the streets if Hillary became prez. But I think she will not run in 2008 for president.

I love La Hillary, love Bill and I think that she would shock the shit out of the people that hate her most if she became president ..... and I'm not talking about the neo-cons ...... BUT I think that she can see that she could not win the election and will be happy to stay in the senate where .... as far as New Yorkers are concerned ... she's doing a good job.

2. Her support may seem broad but be quite shallow
We were in the bank today and started talking with the banker, a young African American woman. She said she hoped Hillary would run because she would shake things up and get some change. We said, well, maybe, but there would probably be more change with our senator, Russ Feingold, as president. She first asked whether he was a Democrat, we gave a thirty-second rundown on how good he is, and she then agreed that he'd be better. From this exchange I learned that although Hillary's name recognition is super high, she may not have staying power once people get down to the details.

(Also, it turns out that she lives a block from us. Another convert for Bryan Kennedy, I'm sure.)

3. LOL - I would've thought the opposite!
That outside of a loud medium-ish-small-ish fraction of democrats, no one else is particularly enthused about her.

I don't spend much time thinking about her tho, so maybe that's it...

5. I hope and pray she doesn't
Not because she wouldn't be a good President, but because I think she is in a 'unwinnable' position. Could she win the nomination? Probably. Can she win overall in '08? No.

I'd rather see someone who is in a position to win in '08 without second guessing voting machines, et al.

....do fish swim, do bears sh_t in the woods....positively, not sure....she could be fickle....

....right when you think you've figured Hillary out and you begin to feel joyful and confident, she may disappoint you and run....

7. The best thing she could do is
decide not to run at the last minute. THAT would sure leave all the Hillary 08 supporters (Hannity, Matthews etc) dumbfounded. It would give the repubs less time to get the sludge machine ready for whoever our nominee is.

8. I think we all talked about that last time around. Not about Hillary but
about making the Repubs sweat it out by not having a clear candidate until as late as possible.
