Why is Bush so anti Reagan - in the 1980's Ronald Reagan used Amnesty for his illegal immigrant policy.

"1987-88 one-time amnesty signed by President Reagan in 1986. The 1986 law, the Immigration Control and Reform Act of 1986, granted an unprecedented amnesty to aliens who had resided in the United States since before 1982."

4. Of course he did. Our bill must penalize the corporate sweat shops.
My point was to expose the GOP as a bunch a flip flopping liars, those who denigrate the word amnesty, a word Reagan, their hero used freely and openly to get the sweatshops there next to nothing costs for labor.

3. Why is this even an issue now?
Lou Dobbs has been mouthing off on how our nation's borders are under attack for the last 8 years now.. this Congress finally decided to get off its ass and address the issue. Why? Could it be to derail attention away from the fact that the Iraqi government has requested the US to relinquish control of the security forces and leave the country only to receive a response from the WH Press Secretary that "I don't know what you're talking about when you say 'Iraqi government'"??? Could it be that we are spending all of our nation's ecomic power on rediculous foreign adventures and defense contracts?

Something crazy happened during Bush's second term...

70% of this country WOKE UP from a deep slumber brought on by reruns of Dawson's Creek and American Idol..

TIRED OF THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS... TIRED OF THE LIES...

GET US OUT OF IRAQ.. The immigration issue is just a smokescreen right now. Millions have been crossing the border - OK its a problem but its like saying "We're out of toilet paper" when the toilet is overflowing... Fix the mess this administration put us in!!!
