DOD reissues uniform regs after Rep. Musgrave misuses troops for partisan gain

Well, the Pentagon is apparently not happy about what the the White House is doing, and reissued the rules about troops NOT attending partisan political events in uniform. The document reiterating the rules came from Rummy himself, which is interesting since he's as political as the White House. I suspect General Pace, the Joint Chiefs chair, is the one who flipped out and forced Rummy to do this.

1. No, this is so the dems can't use them
The repubs have used them up and are going to go on to other back drops, like blacks or latinos.

2. Currently the republicans are not in a position to use the latinos
I don't think NO left them much jiggle room with African-Americans either.

They may still have a few white upper class soccer moms to exploit, however.

3. Presidential appearances will probably not be considered
"Partisan political events", no matter waht Jr. is there to talk about.

4. "REISSUED?"
Members in uniform could never be used for political purposes, so republican broke DOD regulations regardless of whether the regulation was "reissued." That is pure unadulterated bullshit on behalf of the grand old party. And anyone allowing themselves to be used in uniform for political purposes ought to have their ass kicked. Hard.

5. I wondered about that "reissued" wording
I've been looking all over trying to find out if it were ever changed to need to be reissued. I didn't think it had either.
