Lou Dobbs says Norm Coleman will introduce "Ports Security Legislation"
next week when the Senate comes back. Making it sound like the only Senators interested in haveing legislation on this are Repugs!

Does anyone have a link to Dems who are requesting legislation on Port Security to counter Dobbs?

And, if Dems came out first...should we alert Dobbs that his report was BIASED?

1. Homeland Security co-option part deux
They opposed creating the Department of Homeland Security back in 2002, then came out for it when they realized that it would help the Democrats since the idea was politically popular at this time. Bush also wanted a measure that would allow for him to do union busting of DHS employees, citing his "security reasons" excuse. He even threatened to VETO a Democratic version of the DHS if they did not allow him to have the power to union bust. Unfortunately, Bush then ran against "obstructionist" Democrats, who were "against and blocking" creation of the DHS. Senators, such as Max Cleland, were hammered with this. Unfortunately, Democrats cowered after losing the Senate in 2002, and pass the bill with union busting.

2. Do you think it could be because of his membership on the..
following committees? I do. Sometimes we have to keep in mind how things work. A Dem introducing this would have a hard time moving it forward.

9. I understand your concerns, but the 'pubs would just bottle up
any motion by a Dem on this.

They want their imprimatur on any "security" measure.

It is all air, anyway.

DPW (or their US "entity") still has the lock on this.

Just watch.

10. Since 2002, Ports Security was a big issue for Kerry and he included it in
nearly every speech for years and in the debates, and outlined a detailed plan for ports security in 2004 and in 2005.

It was an enormous media lie when they concluded that no Dem ever brought up ports security before Dubai. MediaMatters examined the media lies, but when does media ever correct itself?

4. Yeah, right...
after not being able to stop anything from fake Rolexes to heroin, they're finally going to tighten the ports for the imaginary terrorist threat.

More billions spent, and what we should be checking for, like spoiled food and a hundred Chinamen in a container, will suffer even more than it has.
