Anyone have a good list of all the scary/illegal things that Bush has done
If anyone has a good list or links to sites that list all the illegalities and outrageous things that have been done under this administration in the last 5 years and with the aid of the GOP controlled Congress, please list them here. I'm trying to compile a list so that I can actually start referring to them to any and all uninformed Americans and GOP'ers that I come across. I want to be able to tell these people exactly every single thing that is being done right beneath their noses, most of which they either don't know about or seem oblivious to what kind of dangers lie in such attacks on our civil liberties and rights.

Ones that come to mind for me ofcourse are:

1) Enemy Combatant status and the fact that the President can declare any American citizen an "enemy combatant" and that person can be detained indefinitely without charges and access to a counsel. Americans could essentially under this law be "disappeared".

2) The definitions of Torture and the acts of Torture that have been done by our soldiers and those acting on behalf of the US. The idea that we have ships at sea and small private planes that have taken people to be tortured on our behalf is just sickening.

3) The Patriot Act (the whole thing, but specific programs in it such as the library records etc. are just wrong).

4) The Bush-approved "warrantless spy program" on American citizens - I still have chills from when Alberto Gonzales was asked whether US Mail was being looked at and whether homes were being entered as part of this program and he refused to answer.

I also just remembered the "New Freedom Initiative" program that the Bush Administration tried to promote. It was a program where they tested school kids psychologically and provided "medication" programs. I don't recall the details...

Any one want to elaborate on these and others that I most certainly have missed?

11. Probably because we are just so damn tired of the lies and we want to
start listing them, counting them and making this administration accountable....I'm so disgusted about it all, I can't stand it...But what is equally disgusting is how short-term memory this country is and the inability for Americans to seem to retain much info or memories of "the truth". And with how much Bush lies, it started to make me feel that we need to keep a list somewhere and hold them out every time they lie some more. It wouldn't surprise me to see this administration try to put everything down the Memory Hole and if we don't keep track of things and keep it fresh in people's minds, it will be forgotten. I'll admit, I can't keep track of things just simply because its so many things!

PS: Thanks for the reference to the April Street Sheet.... :hi:

5. Will Pitt summarized the history of the Bush Administration
in one sentence. Of course, it's now a year old, and a lot has happened since then, but it's a start:

A History of the Bush Administration in One Sentence
By William Pitt,

Thu Mar 3rd, 2005 at 08:43:48 PM EDT

Just because the Supreme Court set a poison precedent and appointed Bush, who brought in his crowd of neocon yahoos that no one discussed during the 2000 campaign because we 'Muricans vote for the man and not the mob of frothing dogs that come in his wake, just because the twin bill of unreasonably massive tax cuts were combined with the economic depth-charge that was the Enron/Arthur Andersen scandal that was umbilically connected to the White House, just because the economy (not to mention our whole psyche) absorbed another blow when four commercial airplanes somehow managed to pierce the most impenetrable air defense system in the history of the universe, fooling the entire intelligence community as well if you believe what you hear on Fox...

9. Good point...his failures are as significant as the illegalities this
administration has managed to achieve...

I guess I should add the outing of an NOC CIA agent and the lying us into a War and occupation of a country that did not attack us.....
