_It's real_... wish I had a use for the Tom Bihn product line. Kudos to them!

2. Yes, it's real. It's also very old!
This label was originally mentioned in several threads here on DU in February of 2004.

But, it's still very funny!

8. I thought I had seen it here before.
Ironically, it was just sent to me by Dr. DemoTex from Moscow. She is in Russia on bidniss this week. I might have had a hesitation on sending a political email from Russia. Not Dr. D.! She speaks her mind, near and far. Know what I mean?

12. they've used it on a T-shirt to raise funds for homeless vets in Seattle
Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 09:05 PM by Lisa

"We've had such a response to the care label, or "Treason Tag," that we just had to put it on a t-shirt. All profits go to the Seattle Vet Center. So far, we have raised $16,000, thanks to you."

p.s. I'm still not buying the tale that it's really a dig at the company president, and not aimed at a) Bush, and b) the unilingual "ugly American" stereotype which we saw in all its glory during the "freedom fries" controversy. Would they really have bothered translating it into French, otherwise? (The bilingual label was originally a requirement for Canadian sales ... they actually used to have a sales office in British Columbia until fairly recently.)

13. I agree 100%
It is a deep, and well aimed, stab at Bu$h. Unless one is on the board of directors, he/she does not vote for corporate president. Eh?

It's $80 though, so it's going to be on the list for a while longer. :(

9. I got one when I was in Seattle a couple of years ago ...

Excellent quality, and a real bargain at that price! (They even have a list at their website, of which of their products have "the tag".)

I use it almost every day, and people still think it's a recent purchase!

5. Real and not originally intended for * but companies pres as a joke
http://www.tombihn.com/
specifically this webpage: http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/CTGY/CARELABEL
This all began as an inside joke aimed (we think) at the president of our company, Tom Bihn. Many people have concluded the care label refers to other presidents - what can we say?
