BUSH INKS NO-BID DEAL FOR CHINA TO SCAN OUR PORTS FOR NUKES
WASHINGTON - In the aftermath of the Dubai ports dispute, the Bush administration is hiring a Hong Kong conglomerate to help detect nuclear materials inside cargo passing through the Bahamas to the United States and elsewhere.

The administration acknowledges the no-bid contract with Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. represents the first time a foreign company will be involved in running a sophisticated U.S. radiation detector at an overseas port without American customs agents present...

While President Bush recently reassured Congress that foreigners would not manage security at U.S. ports, the Hutchison deal in the Bahamas illustrates how the administration is relying on foreign companies at overseas ports to safeguard cargo headed to the United States.

16. Rural Electrification
Sorry ... but, really, what's going on here is that the mainstream of America has NO IDEA how the world revolves economically these days, because we are kept at bay with terms and fears and talking points like "Islamo-Fascists" (What the hell does that mean?), "Terror", and all that ... it's like the Bush administration and the global corporations want to keep us in the dark. A business deal with China is nothing to them but an economic strategy -- it has never mattered whether they are communists, Muslims, anarchists, Socialists, Nazis, Fascists, satan-worshippers, or mass murderers ... as long as they can play the game on the economic level and put their money where their mouth is, ideals be damned.

But, it would be too dangerous to speak to the American people in those terms because they would lose influence over us, lose the support of the American ideal. It's the new dumb. Look what rural electrification did ... you know there were corporatists mumbling to themselves, "Awww, jeezuz ... don't give the hicks electricity ... cripes, pretty soon they'll have lights and then refrigeration and then they might as well have the same damn air-conditioning ...".

Keep the people uneducated about the realities of global economics (and the dwindling importance of national identity for these crooks) and watch them reel stupified as the UAE secures a ports management deal without the scrutiny of our homeland security concerns.

Sorry for the rant (felt pretty okay). Preaching to the choir again ....

32. This is just too easy to explain.
Clinton corrupted the Republicans. Don't you remember all the talk about selling the Lincoln bedroom and how the White House was up for sale? Well just like the whole run in with Monica taught every single teen about oral sex, Clinton's selling of the White House set a bad example and corrupted all future governments!!!! (Do I need to use a sarcasm smilie?)

What next, turning over law enforcement to organized crime.

20. Anyone got a link to an old thread...?

There was a thread earlier about a company that could image the entire inside of a container with a scan. They went to DHS and were told essentially that DHS just exists to keep people in a state of fear, not to actually do anything about security.

Umm, didn't Rice just issue China an ultimatum to revalue the Yuan within 45 days or be hit with 27% tarriffs? I am completely confused by our "foreign policy." China could clobber us simply by divesting of its worthless US dollars. What a stupid, stupid bunch of clowns we have running this country.

31. Bush hands COMMUNIST RED CHINA sophisticated American technology.
First, Bush tried to sell our ports to UAI (2 - 9/11 hijackers came from there), until the sheeple figured out that Bush had been telling them that Arabs are bad for the last 5 years, so they feared the UAI. Freepers hate evil terrorists, and all Arabs are terrorists to them.

Now Bush wants to hand over defense technology to COMMUNIST RED CHINA. Meanwhile, Republicans and Freepers have always attacked the Left Wing as evil Communists. Since Bush's introduction of evil terrorists, which was suppose to replace the communists as the new evil Boogieman, Republicans and Freepers have often found themselves trying to attack the Left Wing with the communist and terrorist label, and only confuse themselves because they can't keep it straight.

Regardless of their confusion with which Boogieman, communist or terrorist, they attack the Left with, their President and Republican Party has been selling America out to Communist Red China and exporting American jobs there. Now, Bush wants to turn over American sophisticated technology to COMMUNIST RED CHINA.

Freepers, do you realize that Bush has been selling YOU out to COMMUNIST RED CHINA, and now he wants COMMUNIST RED CHINA to manage your security with American sophisticated technology he plans to just give them?

Iran's New Alliance With China Could Cost U.S. Leverage

By Robin Wright
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, November 17, 2004; Page A21

TEHRAN -- A major new alliance is emerging between Iran and China that threatens to undermine U.S. ability to pressure Tehran on its nuclear program, support for extremist groups and refusal to back Arab-Israeli peace efforts.

The relationship has grown out of China's soaring energy needs -- crude oil imports surged nearly 40 percent in the first eight months of this year, according to state media -- and Iran's growing appetite for consumer goods for a population that has doubled since the 1979 revolution, Iranian officials and analysts say.

Nothing is ever as it appears. Nothing. Bush needs to be cozy with China right now. Since China has such a close relationship with Iran he's in deep doo-doo if wants to get his war on with Iran.
