Poll question: Democratic Party Slogan for 2006
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/10/30/19292/208

House Democratic leaders have proposed "Together, We Can do better" as the new slogan, personally, I think that "Together, We at DU can come up with a better slogan"

House Democratic leaders are holding a closed-door meeting with members of their caucus this afternoon to discuss a new slogan for the 2006 midterm elections: "Together, We Can Do Better" or "Together, America Can Do Better," according to Democratic sources.
Although aides say the slogan has yet to be finalized and is still up for debate, it has already been in frequent use by Democratic leaders on both sides of the Capitol for several weeks.(...)

The catchphrase is not new to political observers, who will remember that an earlier reincarnation, "America Can Do Better," was a slogan in the campaign of presidential aspirant Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), although his main theme was "A Stronger America."(...)

Academic George Lakoff, marketing expert Jack Trout and software entrepreneur John Cullinane have periodically weighed in on the project.

These choices come from the DailyKos Poll, please feel free to post new slogans.

6. "Working for a Better America"
The idea of "working" is good--that they aren't lazy-ass do-nothings sitting on the Hill. Working people with a good work ethic--not elitists.

"Better" is a great word--I'd keep it in.

America--the traditional meaning of the word--The People.

7. "We'll Stand up to the Republicans THIS time, PROMISE!!!"
Posted tongue-in-cheek, but it really, seriously should be something that carries the message that this will be a real opposition party and not a bunch of pink tutus.

The usual pabulum will not do this year. Kerry dished out the usual pabulum in 2004 and look where it got us.

24. Good point
Jefferson was a genious, no wonder I enjoy listening to Thom Hartmann..... Jefferson was right on the money! I really need to read that

As for the "wnough with the slogans" point, I think its valid, lets get to business, diffuse Republicans constant sloganeering and get this country back on track.
