Fresno man raising money to buy better armor for soldier son

FRESNO, Calif. The father of a soldier heading back to Iraq is doing what he can to make sure his son's sniper team has special body armor.

Howard Cullen says he's raised about half of the 30-thousand dollars needed to buy armor outfits for his son, Army Special Forces Sergeant Emmet Cullen, and his five teammates.

The Fresno man is raising the money to so the soldiers will be equipped with custom-made body armor made by Fresno-based Pinnacle Armor.

Howard Cullen is critical of the Army's armor, saying it "does not give you the protection you need."

5. That's right.
Are these guys going to be ordered to leave this armor at home because it wasn't provided by the military?

6. Some of the soldiers did leave the good body armor home
because their superiors told them if they were killed or injured while wearing it their families would not be entitled to their death benefits...Travesty...what a Travesty...
