I put this on seattlemetal’s post but thought it needed one of it’s own to get the truth out.

Back before we had AAR I used to listen to the religious radio stations partly for amusement and partly to figure out what their politics were. At that time the suggestion was being pushed by the fundies that America should invade Syria next, not Iran. I though the thinking was peculiar and still do. However, a former Iraqi General under Saddam has written a book about it. He mentioned on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart that Saddam had moved his WMD’s to Syria. It was in his book. Now more than ever I think he’s lying.

So I did some googling and look who is the publisher, a purveyor of religious books with Pat Robertson as their best seller?

It looks like the fundies are trying to make their case to invade Syria, why I don’t know unless they think that the city of Damascus is a holy site to them.

1. Hubby says the repukes are using the ...
9/11-Saddam meme again...every so often they try to muddy the waters a little to get people back in their way of thinking. They're beating dead horses all over the place...

3. Well let the fundies form and army and invade somebody. That way
there will be less fundies. Why should I pay for their idiotic beliefs and war mongering?

7. You know they will try to get our military involved.

If we don't debunk this as fast as they are trying to spread the astroturf. Sometimes I wonder if they weren't behind Iraq because Iraq still doesn't make a whole lot of sense any way you look at it.

4. he was on the daily show last night
so its alot deeper than just the right media pushing this!

This Iraqi general works for the new government and lives in the green zone, I have serious doubts about his writing and his authenticity!

5. This guy was on The Daily Show last night.
And, his claims have been debunked.

He was active in the early 90s and is basing his statements on unnamed pilots or something.

This is what the game plan is.
It worked once, so let's change the location and go in looking for them again.

And what I posted there.

Georges Hormis Sada graduated from Iraq’s Air Academy in 1959 and was trained by elite forces in Great Britain, Russia and the U.S. An ace fighter pilot who trained other pilots, he went on to become air vice marshal in Saddam Hussein’s military. His acts of bravery, including saving the lives of forty downed coalition pilots in the Gulf War, have earned him hero status.

Georges Sada was born into an Assyrian Christian family in northern Iraq and became a born-again believer in 1986. Georges had great favor with the former Iraqi dictator, as he is one of the few Iraqi men to ever publicly confront Saddam Hussein and live to tell about it. Georges believes a key reason why he served as one of Saddam’s most trusted advisors was to persuade him against
attacking the nation of Israel with chemical weapons, something Saddam attempted to do on two separate occasions.

Now retired, Georges is director of the Iraqi Institute for Peace and also serves as spokesman for the newly elected prime minister of Iraq. He is also the president of the National Presbyterian Church in Baghdad and chairman of the Assembly of Iraqi Evangelical Presbyterian Churches.

In recent years, Georges held the position of principal advisor to the former Iraqi Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi. Additionally, he acted as the lead consultant for the reconstruction of all three branches of the Iraqi defense system. In June of 2003, Georges received the prestigious International Prize for Peace and Reconciliation presented by the Bishop of Coventry, England.

Georges Sada is the author of the book, Saddam’s Secrets, an expose on Iraq’s weapons programs and the murderous reign of Saddam Hussein.

The man who served as the no. 2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force says Iraq moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the war by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.

The Iraqi general, Georges Sada, makes the charges in a new book, "Saddam's Secrets," released this week. He detailed the transfers in an interview yesterday with The New York Sun.

"There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands," Mr. Sada said. "I am confident they were taken over."

Mr. Sada's comments come just more than a month after Israel's top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Moshe Yaalon, told the Sun that Saddam "transferred the chemical agents from Iraq to Syria."

I was disappointed to see Jon give this guy such latitude w/o much of a challenge. This guy says Iraq converted two Boeings to cargo and flew 56 times to Syria with WMD cargo. Yeah right!

10. I figured he was a Christian because Saddam had a lot of
Christians in his government, but born again? Well, I guess it's pretty close to being a Muslim fundie as well.

11. I said this on another Daily Show
thread..This little creep needs to be held accountalble for his lyin' words.

It was nauseating that he got up there on The Daily Show and oozed his everlasting love for all things American and what a great country we have because he can now write a book about being a general in sadam's army..at what price? And btw..the WMD were shipped to Syria with skull and crossbones on them.

12. Most of these mythical WMDs had passed expeiration date anyway.
Meanwhile the explosives that were left ungaurded got carted off by the insurgents and are now being used on our troops.
