Helen goofed in her question yesterday and allowed B*sh
to get off track. By the use of the one word "want".. B*sh was able to completely avoid the question she asked. If she hadn't used that word he would not have been able to evade it the way he did..

Her question: "Your decision to invade Iraq has caused the deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis. Every reason given, publicly at least, has turned out not to be true. My question is: Why did you really want to go to war?"

If she had asked "Without using the old answers, Why did we go to war?" What would he have said?

1. Same answer in both cases.. 9/11
No matter how she asked it, all Bush hears is "why" and "war".

3. The only reporter in the WH press corps asking real questions...
...and you're criticizing what "is" is. Fantastic.

5. oooh, in hind sight, that would have been a better way to word it
although she would have probably gotten the same emotional reaction.

6. She was lucky to get as far as she did. He interrupted her, the mike
she had was worth shit and the other reporters' laughing all made it difficult for her to keep thinks professional.
Personally I think the word "want' was an excellent choice on her part. We all know he wanted war, Woodward's and Clarke's books both are evidence for that- she forced him to lie. It was very clever on her part.

7. Helen goofed NOWHERE.
I heard his entire nauseating reply, and his "speed rap" cut her off at least 3 and possibly 4 times, at which point he did a segue to the next question faster than he likely prematurely ejaculates.

8. What would he have said?
"9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, and did I mention 9/11?"

She nailed him with the question. His voice started quivering, he was all over the place in terms of answering the question. There is a special place in hell for that man.

9. No, She asked precisely the right question.
A very important issue is that these bums *wanted* to go to war with Iraq.
I can't think of a better way for her to word it.
