OK, I'm pissed and in need of some on-line assistance...
Our cable service inexplicably lost half of our channels after the heavy rains in northern Texas this weekend. That means no MSNBC, no Comedy Central, etc. So I call Comcast (our cable provider) and let them know we need this restored. They said they'd get back to me. Well, today, still no channels, so I call Comcast again. They're telling me that we're not going to get those channels back until Sunday at the earliest.

So now I'm pissed off because I'm sure tonight's Countdown with Keith Olbermann was one for the ages. And we missed it. And I have yet to see any excerpts from Nero's press conference today, let alone his attempted smackdown of Helen Thomas.

If anyone can help me out with links to Countdown excerpts or press conference excerpts, I'd certainly appreciate it. ginbarn will be grateful, too. Thank you!

2. You might call to see if you can get credit on your next cable

bill due to your loss of service.

We had a problem -- also with Comcast -- where we didn't have cable for a few days. I called, and we got credit and coupons for a couple of pay-per-view movies.

3. on-line help
there is one thing you can do is tell Comcast to deduct the days you have not recieved your total package from your bill.
Next if they try to give you some lame excuse like they will deduct what they are not providing you, Tell them you will be talking with a lawyer. Then do it. and file a suit. It will be a small claims suit unless you can get people to do the same thing then you could try for a class action

4. You should switch cable companies...
If yer like us you have no other choice but Comcast. I guess you could go with a dish. My cable bill has tripled. Its like 50 bucks a month for basic cable now. I seem to remember them promising us choice ,competition and lower rates...LOL thats funny.

5. I appreciate the help with Comcast, but...
What I'm really looking for is excerpts from the channels we're being denied. Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, all that good stuff we previously took for granted.

Thank God we didn't lose the Science Channel...

6. Switch to Satellite... I hate Cable
I have been a satisfied DirecTV customer for over 5 years. Specially with the hurricanes here in FL, satellite is the way to go for me and their customer service is the best. No, I don't work for DirecTV.

9. MUCH more economical than cable indeed...
Got tired of those tax fees they shub on you every 6 months. Basic satellite service is less than $55 and includes MSNBC et al (more useful channels than what cable offers for more $$$). I heard from some Cable customers that depending where you live you can only get FOX News and not MSNBC :puke: :puke: .

7. inexplicably??
Def: Difficult or impossible to explain or account for.
adj. 1. inexplicable - incapable of being explained or accounted for;
"inexplicable errors";
"left the house at three in the morning for inexplicable reasons"

You already stated it was after heavy rains, didn't you?
Seems like an explainable reason to me!
Adj. 1. explainable - capable of being understood; "explainable phenomena"

Sorry but I couldn't resist!
:P

10. I switched to DirecTv because of problems like that with Comcast
I love them for my internet access, very little problem with that. But their cable service sucks. I have been very happy with DirecTv, only brief outages during heavy rain.
