going to fall from when their foundation, the Bush administration, crumbles and they all fall to the street never to be heard from again.

30. But "he controlled the press conference" . . .
. . . implying that was a good thing - showed he was in charge.

My point is that Bush ALWAYS controls the press. From every angle. That's not an honorable trait, it's the sign of a megalomaniac.

I was shocked that he actually called on Helen Thomas. And her question - WOW! You could hear my teeth falling on the floor. And he stammered and yammered and didn't make any sense and made a joke out of the whole thing, as usual.

What a national disgrace.

4. Okay, that sucked
Heidi, not Paula, much less experienced broadcaster. Bay took the low road, Randi got little air time. Randi tried to site facts, Bay expressed opinion. <sigh>

24. Baye has been out there for years twisting the facts.
Many years ago during the Clinton scandals she had a show on CNN with Stephanie Miller. I guess I was the only one who watched it because it got canceled, but Stephanie used to mop the floor with Baye all the time. If given a chance I believe Randi could too.

9. Very slanted interview
when Randi was talking, they showed Bay making hamburgler grimaces, when Bay was talking, they showed Bush speaking. Bay cut Randi off constantly, but when Randi cut Bay off, the interviewer (who the hell is she anyway?) said LET HER TALK. And what is with Bay calling Randi HEIDI?? That made me laugh. She's such an idiot she doesn't even know Randi Rhodes name?

16. I love Randi ... but why did she imitate Stevie Wonder, I wonder?
When she was on Lou Dobbs, she kept eyeball-scanning the ceiling instead of looking at Dobbs directly. (Is she visually-challenged? Did I miss something? Am I being insensitive?)

22. Remember, she's radio first
I think sometimes she forgets that people on the other side of that magic eye can SEE her, she is so accustomed to her radio show. It can be a bit distracting watching her make faces and roll her eyes, but she is far more pleasing of a television personality than is Bay Boocannon.

28. Quickie Transcript - Part One
Intro: Will the President's Up-Beat News Conference turn around his political misfortune? Well, many things he says these days brings many people to the boiling point. Joining me here in New York, Randi Rhodes of the liberal Air America Radio Network and in Washington CNN contributer and Conservative Activist Bay Buchanan . . .

Heidi: Randi, the President is low in the polls, the lowest he's ever been in approval ratings, today, though, up-beat optimistic, candid, this really a president under pressure?

Randi: Doesn't seem like anything bothers him. It doesn't seem like he's involved in anything, really, if it it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done. If he has a news conference, it's a SURPRISE news conference. Listen, when the president tells you he doesn't pay attention to the polls, he's saying he doesn't pay attention to the people. WE are the people that they poll. And nobody approves of the way he is handling, not handling, this whole war. The idea that we went here, on, you know, many, many lies, is well accepted now. But, he doesn't see, engaged. He doesn't seem to want to change the Defense Secretary, doesn't want to change the strategy. Doesn't want to do anything except use our soldiers as props, which is what he did in Operation Swarmer.

31. Quickie Transcript - Part Two
Heidi: Bay, you give him an A for performance, what about substance?

Bay: I think he did a really good job. You gotta give the man real credit. Heidi suggests he doesn't follow the polls, he doesn't listen to the people, I don't agree.

Heidi: Randi suggested that

Bay: I apologize, Randi. I apologize. And I think he does an excellent job, because I think this is the right policy, but I understand what the people are saying, there's great concern, there are real problems in Iraq, but I believe we are on a good path. We had more troubles than we expected. We have a plan here and we'll move ahead.

Randi: What is it, Bay? What's the plan?

Bay: Well, clearly the plan is to continue to train these people over there so they can police and arm themselves, protect and defend themselves

Randi: Bay, Bay (garbled)

Heidi: Randi, let Bay finish

32. Quickie Transcript - Part Three
Heidi: Finish up, Ray, er, Bay

Bay: And in addition to that, to make sure we have the kind of support for that government while these people are being trained. They did a pretty good job after that, ah, tri, um, shrine, was bombed last month. They did a pretty good job. The Iraqi people are doing a pretty job. They're engaged in their own attempt for self-determination.

Heidi: The President admitted for the first time that troops will be in Iraq until at least 2009. Is he really leaving it up to the next president to get this job done?

Randi: He's leaving a mess for everybody. He's leaving a mess for the middle-class. He's leaving a mess for the soldiers. Billing them for their body armour when they come home. He hasn't changed the strategy, while he was talking, in the surprise news conference today, these matinee appearances that the president gives, which by they way, are for us. It's for us in the news. For us in the media to watch him and comment on him at nite when people are likely to be watching your show. Nobody sees these matinee things except for Bay and me and you, Heidi. You know, it's for the media. So, the president is absolutely not changing the strategy. So, while he's giving this surprise news conference, the police station in Iraq was mortared and there were a hundred dead Iraqi's while he's doing happy news.

33. Quickie Transcript - Final Part Four
Heidi: Bay, last word now

Bay: Liberals make a real mistake, they underestimate the man. His message is one because he believes it's the correct one. That's the verbal message. His non-verbal message is one of confidence, of comfortable (?). He's in the middle of the press that has really not shown him respect or any kind of support whatsoever, but really the enemy, if you like. And he is completely in control of that press conference. He's sending the message to the American People, listen, I know there's a problem, but I am on top of this.

Randi: I gotta tell ya, Helen Thomas, Helen Thomas asked him a question about Iraq and his answer was Afghanistan . .

Heidi: Thank you very much ladies. We'll talk to you again next time around

Took me half an hour and though I'm certain the video will show up soon on DU, I wanted to prove my point that Baye used emotion, while Randi used facts.

37. Thank you
I appreciate your transcript. I missed the show...I can't stand Paula-Ho-Zahn and I don't know who Heidi is but it sounds like she was subbing? (Ray, Bay...hahahaha) Randi was great. She's getting better at the TV thing. On Lou Dobbs she was brilliant earlier. He liked her a lot.
Bay, and all the other apologists for Lieboy can't come up with much to defend his performance.
Thread drift: Cystboy called it "manly" fer chrissakes. If anyone is up for a good cleansing vomit: Bush Sparkles in Ideological Performance

Thanks again for the typitude. :)
