5. Dobbs...
is just a cranky member of the Imperial Dog and Pony Show. If he gets too out of line, the Lion Tamer will crack the whip and bonk him on the nose with the chair leg. His crap-ola is like a bad laxative...it don't move me.

6. I like him more than not, but he really loses me when he starts
ragging on undocumented Mexican workers just about every night.

He insists on calling them illegal aliens, which I guess is technically what they are.

However, would it kill him to be a little more sensitive and refer to them as undocumented workers??

In many cases, these are desperate people who are more than willing to mow lawns, pick cherries and more for minimum wage so they can send money back home.

Yes, I think it's a problem that United States taxpayers are forced to foot the bill for these worker's medical care and education -- and that needs to be addressed, however I think there are some sensible solutions out there.

I guess the bottom line concerning my post is I just think Dobbs could be a little more understanding.

Otherwise, I love watching him.

12. Another problem you're ignoring
was mentioned by one of the other guests. In LA young black men use to make $18.00 and hour installing drywall. Now illegals do it for half that wage. The same is happening here in the south. Illegals willing to work for $5.15 and hour (or $4.00 or less under the table) are displacing young black and white workers in the construction and landscaping businesses.

27. Yea and why are the so-called "illegals" willing to work for 5.15 an hour?
Because that's what these rotten, dirt bag employers are paying.

Don't blame the workers....blame the employers. They're the ones paying people under the table, getting out of offering benefits, getting out of paying taxes into the system.

They're far, far more despicable than the Hispanic people you see mowing lawns in the 100 degree California heat for peanuts.

29. I didn't say it was okay for the employers to pay slave wages
However, if there were zero illegals willing to work for slave wages, then these employers would be forced to pay Americans a living wage. A few years ago there were plenty of Americans working in the areas I mentioned, and they were making $6.00 to $10.00 an hour back when that wage would buy about 40% more than it will now.

Mexico would be forced to address their poverty problem if they didn't have a conduit to USA to just "export" their problem.

30. Listen, I agree that Mexicans should be required to fill out all of
the appropriate documentation to work here.

But Dobbs is so obsessed with this "illegal alien" situation that it's getting to be ridiculous and tiresome.

Fine, do some stories now and then, but EVERY SINGLE DAY?

Why not do stories on port security and all of the un-xrayed luggage that makes its way onto airliners every day instead. That's a far bigger concern to me and I'm sure a lot of other people.

But day after day after day on illegal Mexicans. Enough is enough. I get the point.

And by the way, if and when the day comes when so called illegal aliens are kept out of this country from picking fruit.....I'm going to laugh my ass off at all of the people rioting in the streets about $7 per pound grapes and $11 a gallon orange juice.

32. Labor costs are less than 10%
When you buy a fruit or vegetable at the supermarket, the labor cost (the picking part) of the total price is less than 10%. You could double wages, and the retail price of the product would increase somewhat but not double or triple as some people claim. If you paid $5.00 for a bag of beans before, you might pay $5.50 after the increase. You would pay a little more, but there would also be less poverty and social costs for the federal and state governments. The workers would have more money to spend in the local economy, and the various governments would have more tax revenue.

21. If you listen to Lou, you'll hear his solution is to penalize the
Companies who exploit the illegals. Sorry if you don't like that term, but there are legal immigrants, and there are the opposite. The term illegal is legit.

I hear Lou all the time arguing for the American middle class, and I sure don't hear any other host doing that!

It's wrong for some immigrants to go through the requirements to get a green card in the US, and some others to just bypass all that BS and ignore the laws.

I've heard enough about how difficult it is to get through legally that I believe the fight we should be having is to fix the failed Immigration & Naturalization Dept! But it's not doing the illegals any favors letting greedy businesses exploit them for insanely low wages and no benefits.

Lou may not have all the answers or even the best ones, but so far, he's the only one making reasonable suggentions.

28. If you read my post #27....I agree with Lou it's a good idea
to penalize these companies.

I just find it very hard to overly blame these Mexican people for doing what it takes to put food on the table.

At times, when you listen to Dobbs, you'd think Mexicans picking fruit for six bucks an hour is more of a crisis than the threat of another terrorist attack.

He is puting out more truth than all the other cable news shows combined.
Lou is an old Paleocon who says he is now an independent. Considering he sides with Dems more than repukes, I would hardly call him a Neocon.

I hope he stays with it and doesn't fall to the enormous pressure hes been getting from the Wall Street crew. I mean they are crucifying Dobbs as a traitor to the supposed free market. He knows theres nothing free about it and they cant stand anyone stepping on there charade , costing them money.
